Hey guys,

I'm trying to get the A plate off the phone so i can repair it but i can't get beyond unscrewing the first 2 screws on the back. I'm stuck from there on. Has anyone done this before or know of any sites that show you how to do it? I've been on the net for the last 4 hours trying to find one but to no avail.

Please help!

i've found it on the web ..i dont think it's necessary. just unscrew all of the torx screws and take her apart...it's easier than you think...just pay attention to how it comes apart and reverse the process..i'll find the site and post it when i do but otherwise dont be afraid to try....it's rather easy

i have dust underneath my screen and would also like some help on this. i also am stuck past unscrewing the 2 screws in the back; someone please post pics.

i think that's part of the problem. after the screws, i know i'm supposed to take off the plastic backing piece at the top of the phone but there's no way i can take it off without damaging it.

take out the battery , then the 2 screws behind there. Then pull up the ariel and take out the screws behind it. It may seem like you will break the arie, it takes some force but just yank it up, it will be fine. Then take off the slide and take out the 2 screws at the bottom
I know my description sucks, but thats how I did it. I'll try an find a guide onine and post it here

actually i couldnt have said it better...that's exactly how....just like the old 8290 or the tdma version 82xx you have to snap the top that protects the antenna and you'll be golden from there

could you be more specific on how to do that? it looks rather fragile and i don't want to break it off; i don't want to have to remove the slider if i don't have to either; all i want to do is blow off some dust underneath the screen. if anyone has pics or the more detailed guide i'd appreciate it.

Take the battery cover off and the battery out. Just above the battery contacts there should be a smal gap. insert a small screwdriver and pull it up, the black plastic cover on the back which is the ariel will pop off. It may feel like the cover will break but trust me it wont, it just neds a bit of force to come off. Once this is done remove the two screws you find.

Now go to the front of the phone, pull the slider down, turn the phone to its side and slowly lift the slide up and pullt towards you, the slide should now have come off. Then remove the 2 screws you find underneath and the phone will now be fully dismantled.

You do not need to take the slide off if you just want to get to the screen, just remove the ariel and take the screws out from underneath it
