have anyone seen any faceplate/housing for the t300? i've looked everywhere, but didn't find any. any links to pics of them or post some, if you have any. thanks!

Hrm, third party faceplates just don't have that style and resonence of the dual-tone Sony Ericsson ones. Too bad.. I hope the red and blue ones become available soon. Or some actually nice third party faceplates come out.

I have looked everywhere for the orignal faceplates. I've looked at Pacific Mall up at Kennedy and Steeles in Toronto....

I have looked on the Sony Ericsson site?

What gives? Why are there only 3rd party covers available?

My friend actually switched his green one for the blue one with a dude he met from Germany.

Are they that rare?

The code for them is IST-21.

Nowhere to be found on the net!

I was able to order a Sony Ericsson T300 original RED faceplate from a dude who lives in Germany.

THIS JUST IN: Stop by your local T-Mobile corporate store to pick up aftermarket Faceplates that appear highly like OEM faceplates in Red, Blue, Lighter Green, and Purple!! They come in two packs of Red-Blue and Green-Purple for $14.99 for the 2 pack, go to the SEMC main forums for a small review of the plates

Guess what? I got my purple today.
WOW, totally worth it (I actually ordered it before it was available on the site).

I thought it was going to be a solid purple, but it's actually purple with white wavy lines coming down it throughout. Are the other SE colors at GSMphonesource like this too? It's pretty sweet, it seems to give off a metallic-y shine.

When I first got my mystical green, I like green, so I thought, eh I can deal with it. But mannnn I got sick of it...this purple is SWEEET....since it gives that silvery finish, makes my phone not look so cheap compared to that mystical green!

Wooohoo!

I'll probably get those T-Mobile ones once I see them anyway (though I hear not as good)....but THIS is AWESOME.

Don't know about the lime colored one but the orange and blue don't have any white wavy lines on them. (I got an orange and a blue one from GSMphonesource and both of those colors are solid).

I really like both the orange and blue. They look very nice. Thought about the purple one but it looked a little to light colored for me. I like dark purple but not violet purple so much.

I'll pass on the lime color. That one looks pretty ugly from the pix.

how do u change the cover for the T300? it's not in the manul they give u.. can i even be changed?

and you know how there are those decorative items that hang off the top of the phone? can they be put on in any way?

Kitty,

At the top of the phone there is a resessed "push-button" like the ones on Nokia 5100s. When you push down (ie. into the top of the phone), you can slip a fingernail in the crack between the plate and the phone or just pull lightly and the top will start to pull free. The mid-level clips on mine hold on pretty tight (first time I changed it I thought my plate would snap in half), but if you get your fingernail in about 2-3cm below the slide button on the side, it should pop free except for the bottom slide tabs. Then it just eases back off and you're done.

To put your new plate on put the keymat that came with it in the plate first (if it's aftermarket like mine are I can't use the OEM one--the size it just a hair off and the button don't line up right) and do the whole process in reverse. Start with the bottom slide tabs and you should be able to just "click" it in place with just a squeeze near the top of the screen.

As far as "decorative items" I'm not sure what you mean so I won't be much help there.

Going nuts trying to find a OEM midnight red faceplate locally and online... there's a place in Vancouver that's selling aftermarket faceplates for CDN$30, but they don't look as good. Although there's a chrome one...

Well, I'll be very happy if someone finds a website or SE starts selling the "original" colours!

Also wondering where I can ask people if they want to trade T300 faceplates... should I do it in the GSM buy/sell?

Yes, I too, have been looking everywhere for the OEM Midnight Red and Mystical Green covers. I don't see why SonyEricsson doesn't sell these covers separately, they'd probably make more off of the three original faceplates than they would with the four other oddly named faceplates. Just my two cents.

BTW if anyone knows where I could find these two faceplates, preferably without any service provider logos on the bottom, please let me know

Yep, count me in for an OEM Midnight Red, mine came with the Mystical Green(Thank You Cingular!)

, but the Red matches my car!!!

If anyone finds it either online or in a store, please post, I'll gladdly do the same.
