I got the sharp 903 today and took a few pics day indoor and outdoors. One pic of the pumpkin is zoomed a little. All pics auto at full resolution, but resized by photobucket.

Posted by: rami_d15

thanx man for this

Posted by: LCH

Yeah! This would be an awesome thread, hopefully I would join soon when mine arrives. I'm actually not much of a camera guy, it would be very helpful for experts to suggest any settings. Just a thought. Also (I hope this would not go off-topic), can I cancel the function where you flip the screen and it automatically turns to camera mode?(I prefer setting it manually. Thanks!

I'd like to share some of my pics as well!

hey man hows the rf in the gta??

lmk thanks

Posted by: jtcb

Is there shuttle sound problem like those SE W800? I mean is there shuttle sound in silent mode? I hope not. I'll be getting the UK version btw.

Posted by: totaltoanage

Too much money...

Posted by: totaltoanage

actually you can turn off the shutter sound altogether...

The reception isn't as bad as I thought it would be! But then again, I previously had the s710a and the rf on that was amazing compared to the 903. Reception around mississauga is pretty good and I haven't had any dropped calls downtown or around york university yet. The signal bars seem to fluctuate inside buildings though which can be quite annoying, but that's already a given without 850mhz.

I have the jap 903 and unfortunately the shutter sound can't be disabled even when in silent mode!

Posted by: totaltoanage

you have to disable it, in the camera.

hmm...I don't see it anywhere in the options or settings?

Posted by: AL9999

You can't disable the shutter sound in normal, unhacked versions of Sharp phones...

You mean UK version?

Posted by: jamesdean7777

ok im going to buy this handset but what version should i buy??

mp3s is a must
bluettoth is a must
and reception must be good

lmk thanks

Posted by: ducvader

Yup - Dope pics - I should go MIA again - by then the 5 mega pixels will come out lol.

Posted by: MODist

There are different opinions about quality of 903's pics.
I saw just crap, i saw super... they are all different. How can it be?

I mean all region versions. I don't know why Totaltoanage can disable it, but ask anyone else and they will tell you they can't disable it (and Sharp will tell you that too).

Posted by: LCH

Finally got my 903sh. Took some pictures of the new Mild Seven. Here are the pics.pics.
acl88 (N840pro) got the 903sh too! Hopefully he can provide us with some pics soon, 'cause he really knows his stuff. In the mean time...

Posted by: beyond

haha i saw some really good pix up for 903
I can't seem to do the same on mine
do you guys use the auto focus feature or do you manually focus it??

maybe a guide to using the camera effectively would be nice...

sorry i'm a n00b to this photo taking stuff so yea =b

Posted by: LCH

Yeah, that would be a great idea. Auto-Focus for now, I'll try something next time.

Some pics that I took

My Car

This is without doubt the BEST camera phone EVER !!!

Posted by: fryrice8850

do u guys have ne pics that are indoors?

Posted by: crunked22

uploaded some new pics

903 pics

Posted by: zaku

damn the 903 takes such awsome pics
gonna consider one for sure if my budget allows

Posted by: khaltire

damn even 3.2megapixel isnt as good as I expected
you can still see the grain in the pics

I guess camera phones are still a long way aways from 3.2 megapixel cams

but why am I complaining, mines coming in the mail :P

Posted by: fryrice8850

speaking of budget...how much did u guys pay for the 903, i saw ebay going for like $400-$500 USD. i might just consider a step down an get the 802 instead but that has a megapixel cam not 2 meg *sigh

Posted by: khaltire

its funny 802 was generally almost the same price as the 902sh, plus it couldnt be flashed to SX813

i paid $400 CDN for my 903.. havnet paid yet but I will be paying soon

$400CAD is good price.. Where did you get it in Vancouver? $400 plus tax? Is it brand new? UK or Japan version?

Posted by: khaltire

so japan version

not in vancouver

Posted by: khaltire

Posted by: fryrice8850

damn about $336.96 USD thats a good price. can ur friend send me one too?

Posted by: Timsta

khatlire.. u finally joinini the club?

Posted by: jtcb

Can someone help me decide? I am still debating if I should get this or SE W800? I have played with W800 but not the 903? What are the pros and cons of both phones? Some features I don't really care are FM radio, theme.. I'll get the UK version if I go for 903. Fully unlocked by vodafone by code with no bug.

W800:

customable theme
full length mp3 ringtone
only 2mp camera
no shuttle sound in silent mode (china version)
512mb memory stick pro duo, expandable to 2GB or higher if available
cover over lens for protection
small and thin

903:

theme not customable
limit of 30secs for mp3 ringtone?
3.2mp camera, slow camera when taking pics??
is there shuttle sound in silent mode? (manner as they call it)
64mb SD mini card, expandable to 1GB, largest available limit?
no cover over lens
thick and big (as big as the SE S700/S710a?)

Posted by: MODist

Take 903.
It's QUALITY.

Posted by: Timsta

well u listed out everything really.. but if u want exclusivity.. the 903sh is the way to go.. i go around GVa.. I see every tom, ****, jerry and old lady with the w800i

Posted by: ExcelPremium

wow are there really that many w800i in the GVA? lol

Posted by: Timsta

yah. its silly. last weekend alone. i went to go for dim sum.. i see old ladies using it.. then go to pacific centre.. see girls/guys using it.

Yeah, I also noticed that a lot of people here in Toronto use the SE K750i/W800i. You'd actually think that Rogers or Fido had this phone by the sheer amount of people using it! lol I've seen them everywhere from my campus, the subway, malls etc.

Posted by: khaltire

I dont really pay attention to ppls phones anymore... dont really care

more into shoes and clothes

Posted by: fryrice8850

lol u see old ladies using it. do they got headphones on and jammin to their music?

Posted by: jtcb

I went to Simpro to see a real 903 today. It looks nicer then in picture. Feels very solid (doesn't feel like plastic and light like the W800), and is not as thick and bulky as I thought. I compared the screen size with a SE S700, and they are almost the same. 903 is a little thicker. I think I will most likely get the 903... but still not 100%..

BTW, is SD mini card an old format card and discounted? The largest size is only 1GB whereas the pro duo is expanding to 2GB now and soon 4GB.. This is one of the reason I am still debating..

Posted by: AL9999

No miniSD is still an active card format, it's just that Sony is trying to get the edge in the memory card market, because both SD and miniSD cards are the most successful at the moment.

Remember, a Pro Duo card is physically almost the size of a standard SD card, so it's no surprise that it's getting the same data sizes as an SD card.

Posted by: Timsta

the screen sizes on the s700 and sharp 903sh nd 902sh are about the same size but there is a big difference.. the difference is the the sharp screen is mUCH MUCH better. how much did simpro/simstar quote you for the 903sh? u should ask them silly questions.. i always tke delight giving the sales there a quick quiz

Posted by: jtcb

They quoted me three prices if I remember correctly..

$640 + one tax by cash
$640 + two tax by CC/DC
$75x if you want half yr store warranty

Posted by: ajamils

guys......wouldn't it be better we u guys stick to the topic and just post pics from 903....instead of all other discussions ?

Posted by: MODist

Heree's a little Moscow

Posted by: ExcelPremium

nice pics!

Posted by: Timsta

wow moscow looks awesome.. never seen b4. very very nice. love your pics. show us more of europe

Posted by: crunked22

Those pics of Moscow are from a 902 though. Nice pics nonetheless.

Posted by: fryrice8850

what do u guys think about the 802?? even though it doesn't have 2 megpx cam everything else is about the same rite?

Posted by: rami_d15

no its not..... the screen is smaller \ one speaker only \ mp3 player sound is not the same \ no optical zoom \ no autofocus and many errors !!!!

802 was the cheap version of the 902 when they came out

anyway i have one and i am happy with it so far..... but not comparable to the 902 .... and ofcourse the 903 specially i care for the camera\sound\ and stabelity

sorry for the bad english and i hope the thread go back in its track and show us more pics

Posted by: fryrice8850

thx but ya definatly get back on track wit the pics

Posted by: khaltire

those moscow pics are horrible

glad to know that is the 902.. scared me

Posted by: ExcelPremium

Khaltire, go post some pics that you think aren't considered "horrible" using a camera phone ok?

you have to keep in mind, it is a camera phone after all...

Posted by: rami_d15

i wont call it horrible....

actually it looks pretty good and i love that its bright and the colors....

but always sharp 902 gets this very soft pictures.... thats what i think

Posted by: ajamils

dude those pics are bad.. i wouldn't touch the 903 if that's what it did...

the w800i/k750i's 2.0 is way better than the 2.0 on the 902..just need to compare is against the sharp 903 to see the true winner..

Posted by: khaltire

thanks guys, looks liek most ppl agree with me

no need to get offended... i just was expecting 903 quality and I saw that, completely turned me off.. when I heard it was 902 then it was ok

Posted by: MODist

I think when 904 or smthin' appears, the 903's pics quality will be the same - horrible ))

Posted by: totaltoanage

thats from a 902, cant you tell?

Posted by: khaltire

no its not like that though, the 902s are all round and blurry, the 903 isnt like that

when i compare a 5mp cam to a 7, i dont think the 5 looks horrible.. theres a point where its not like that anymore

Posted by: kaizoku_san

A few pics I took today. Each one was takest on highest quality settings, then used Photoshop to reduce it to 1024x768 and 50% quality :

Posted by: acl88

I took a few pics..as of late...

let me rape your bandwidth...

resized for 1024x768:

i think they call it "macro mode" lol

haha

actually its the short depth of field with any lens that focuses in on something so close.. the 903 does it with autofocus.

Posted by: crunked22

those pics are awesome acl88. were they re-touched in photoshop?

kaizoku_san, do you happen to know the Rogers mms settings for the 903?

or does anyone else know?

thanks for the compliments! i hope i can take just as artistic pics as i did with my trusty n840!! the pics were only resized in photoshop, none of them were adjusted for contrast, balance, levels, etc.

Posted by: eyesonly6587

wow man..those pics are impressive!

i wish i can afford a 903
