BTW, english version phone manager is out. Can download it from my usual link. I will come out with another v1.4d3 for those newbie. For those who already v1.4d2, please uninstall your phone manager and install with the new english phone manager. After install must fun Es1.0 file system.

the imoto ab p with transparent background is not very good... the main thing is that the first menu (just when you press menu from home screen) has white behind the icons so it is ugly, that part is not transparent. is there a link for the imotoab p from 1.4a?

It's similar but has some new things (iTunes cheat, new skins). All of the i398 packs are pretty similar, mostly cosmetic differences.

Guys...

I am planning to embeded iPhone (Phone manager) with lightPlayer...
So when u call MP3 player or any music file it will call lightPlayer rather than
the default (static skin) PhoneManager music form.

and i have found the existing problem still in this version...

some problem found:
1. can't copy & paste, neither move or delete
2. can't show GIF image
4. unrecognized mp4, m4a and aac file format

Hi Muncheno...first of all, mill thanks to you coz made this great MP. Also to all great HoFo members.

It would be very nice if i can contribute something even i can't make a MP. The skin i made especially for PCMMod user . But before you can install the skin, you must have at least 1.72MB on your phone!!

. The skin is fully animated graphics so it uses a lot of spaces on your phone. Really sorry about that..

After you install it, please make sure that you set the home screen LAYOUT to : Centered (Under settings - Personalize)

This is my first skin and any comments are recommended. I made this skin just for my personal usage actually. But i thought it would be very nice if i can share it with you. Some of the icons in the skin was collected from other skins (hehe....sorry for stealing) but most of them i made myself. I named it RokR because the wallpaper came from RoKR screensaver.

New Skin for i398 (RokR)

Lastly, you can easily edit the skin if you want to add or remove something you don't likes by using Skinner4Moto . Very easy and userfriendly tools.

And install the skins using P2K Commander is a lot easier than flex files.

iPhone ver 1.0 (released) is out!

Thanks for testing it out for me. I have another request if possible. I almost finish with a new ways to update PCMMod using P2ktools flex, P2kcommander batch and es1.0 file system. I would like someone to help me test it out.
With P2kcommander:-
This update method will erase your all your KJAVA folders in /a/ & /c/. Then install all the java & games to it. Other that this, this will also installs all the skins packs and startup & shutdown animation & sound.
With P2ktools:-
It will update the modify seems.
With es1.0:-
To enable all the permission for Java apps.

How you feel that ideas?

I was hoping to come out with a super lite PCMMod MP pack. After install this pack, users can run an installer (like windows installation) to allow user to customise it (such as Gamer configuration / Cools skins configuration or Battery Saver configuration). Then follow by games pack configuration (lite or crazy gamer) and lastly choice of skins to be install.

I cant do this sort of thing alone, if anyone agree with this ideas pls let me know. I would put a new thread after i succeed with the Java installation method using p2kcommander.

coz the 1st one is still in BETA version
Improvement:
1. No left Russian to English transalation
2. Show strecth to fit screen size picture rather than show the original picture size.

Btw can i just uload my original funlight.pat into PCMOD v1.4d?
I need to remove auto flash ligth fire...in some event..

Sure you can upload funlight.pat from v1.4d and even E398 to it. The file is in /c/mobile/audio/

To edit some event in the funlight.pat, you need to use funlight editor. It can be found in my esnips.com

Pwede, nice work! The app is great! Just one thing, is it possible to implement some form of 'zoom' functionality, where pressing up/down on the joystick zooms in/out a certain percentage if you know what I mean? Thats the only gripe I have, other than that, great work.

You must run e1.0 file system after installing the iphone explorer and infact most Java apps dedicated for I398 (except games) will required to run that. Check it out in my link for the e1.0. It also containing the instruction.

iPhone will running only in .E1R enviroment (i398)
and I do recommend you to use PCMMOD v1.4d
Honestly it haven't test yet with other MP's around..
and i don't have any intention to do that.

actually im quite like PCMMOD v1.4b b4. de only problem wif it is high battery usage.
juz like shyamverybusy said i need 2 charge my battery everyday. tis make me very unconvinent. i hope muncheno can fix it on nex PCMMOD.

the installation games on the fly would be great cause then you wont have the prompt anymore am i correct? I install my games through bluetooth, if you can get rid of that, thats great; i havent used ur one time install thing i'll give it a try on the next verison

the battery only lasts 2 - 3 days because of the update to i398 because of all the extra features, if you want a longer battery life revert to v398

so far as i know the hardwares inside rokr e1 is almost the same wif e398. and they are using the same type of battery. i guess the battery life for e398 wont much shorter than e1. izit a problem wif the mp?? correct me if im talking nonsense...

the hardware/batteries are identical i think rokr's batteries got 10v more lol, e1 would last longer because they dont have the crazi DRMs going on, such as graphics, and their phones arent modded;

which monsterpack are you having problems with?

b4 i flash to PCMMOD v1.4d2 i was using v1.4a. n i juz flash PCMMOD v1.4d2 tis morning. so i duno the battery life for v1.4d2. the 1st mp i use is shoey mp. i found tat his mp has longer battery life. maby juz like u said we got de crazy DRMs...

Can you check your email? I send the invitation to you already. The beta folder containing the beta PCMMod upgrade pack. You will need to use p2ktools and p2kcommander 3.2.6 for the pack to upgrade from v1.4d2 to v1.4e. On p2kcommander MAKE SURE you disable pk2autostart and also close it if it is running, coz the p2kautostart will keep refreshing on checking the phone and this will coz the p2kcommander to hang.

The pack will containing a folder with *.p2kc batch file inside and *.hs file for seem upgrade whicn i dun think you need to try that and i forgotten to put few more seems for upgrade, so try it later.
Run the "PCMMod upgrade v1.4d2 to v1.4e.p2kc" to upgrade.

Make sure you make backup of your phone, before upgrade it coz still beta. The Java Apps work for me (coz it came from my phone anyway), and i not sure it will work for you. Therefore by using the beta upgrade pack,you may lose all your java apps in your phone (except card) if fail.

Another thing incase you forgotten to close that p2kautostart and p2kcommander hang during midway. Dun worry, just close the hang p2kcommander and unplug your phone and plug back and start all over again.

I upgraded to the v1.4d2 flash. Thanks btw muncheno.

My question is I'm trying to connect to my bluetooth headset/car bluetooth,
It normally connects automatically when I turn on the bluetooth headset before, but now I have to manual go to bluetooth headset option on the phone and find the headset myself to connect. Can anyone help me out here? Is this a bug?

for those who have been trying to download i398 related files/MP/apps from my mirror site http://e398.xettie.com

the hdd crashed, as well as the primary backup was not usable. so everything has been reverted back to 1st Oct, which means all the MPs and apps i've uploaded in the month of Oct are GONE.

can run the *.p2kc batch installer again.
Then run e1.0 file system and test few games that dun work initially.
If it fail again, try run *.p2kc for another time and let me know whether work or not.

Regarding changes, actually not much other than Java apps. The v1.4e is in my site, comparing to v1.4d are patches are all included and skins (Symbian-Red and fully transparent iMOTOab).

On the bluetooth connection i dun have problem with my cheap BT, it connected on it's own.

I have tested your skins, overall is good. The problem for this is size way to big for me to put in my MP, and it is slower with all the beautiful animation. Would you consider making those animation with less steps so can reduce a bit of sized?
Secondly, animation does seem to tied with the functions but lucky there is label on top. Maybe i could try to help shift the label to bottom for you.
I think if could reduce the skins to less than 1MB, that would be justify for me to put in the MP. Anyhow, i will upload it to my site later after some changes in mind.

muncheno, just want to say thanks for the new version. Your modified funlight.pat works perfectly with my charger (I have a high current one I guess). I like the KDE skin, I'm glad you included it. The bright camera strobe on incoming calls is very good.

I put 1.4e on my site too

edit: I don't use iTunes any more (unless it gets cracked I'll use Lightplayer) so can I easily fix up the date patch thingo? If I set my date to October (actually october, 26/10/05 not 26/05/05!) the day of the week it shows is one day behind, eg today it says is Tues when it's Wed. Is this easy to change?

Sorry abt the Java problems using the beta upgrade pack. I think i may able solve most of it. I recommend you go back to your backup or the lastest PCMMod MP.
I will try futher on my phone. Maybe i can just use my card as a dumme to test it out.

Also if anyone else finds audio playback with Lightplayer too loud, I made a gain_table.bin for you thanks to xlr8's seem map.

1) Go to java options and set app volume to 1
2) Download the gain_table.bin file from my site HERE
3) Using P2KCommander/P2KTool go to /a/ and delete the gain_table.bin if it exists, if it's not there don't worry.
4) Send the file to the phone
5) Reboot phone and enjoy quieter music

edit: Muncheno that file worked, thanks. One more thing:
I'm getting the popping noises on keypress now with keypad volume set to 0 (haptics is on). Is this to do with the gain_table file or something else?

muncheno dear cant u upload the MP on those site that support DL manager in future b'cause my connection where I live is too slow and it goes 5KB/s max as dl speed & i have tried 2 times to dl the MP and both time it stopped at around 95% after more than 2hrs. So please think abt us poor people who do not have Broadband or other high speed ISP.

So do you know any free file hosts that support download managers? (answer: none) You can get 1.4e from the link in my sig, you can use download managers there if you have them setup properly.

Please ellobrate. R u using E398(R372) before trying to upgrade. You sound like your phone disconnected (or loss connection) during upgrade and phone data is erased. Try take off your battery and put it back. Then boot into bootloader (note: you may not see the screen at all!!! try listen to keypad sound) and detect it with flashbackup or ramdlr. If still can detect, you r lucky then, try to restore your last backup. If not then, pls search & read on shadowphantom thread on how to restore your phone using hardware reset.

Also: If you have the high current charger and muncheno's funlight file doesn't fix it, make sure under ring styles you have event lights set to ON. If I have mine on off, the light will always stay on when charging.

muncheno I installed MP 1.4e and it is really great. I really liked the startup & shutdown pics although improvment can be done on that part. The games are great. The skins are cool & the Mp is stable enough. That was a great effort. Well i hope u can refine it more in the future.

If you flashed Muncheno's PCMMod MP and want your battery life last longer like SpeedDemon does, just enable the blank idle screen when in standby mode in seem 0032. I did it in my phone and there's improvement in my battery life even if itunes is there.

Can you try run the p2kc batch file again? Then run e1 file system v0.4 (must be this version). During this e1, please check during the patching J2MEST if there any red line coming out. Red means fail to patch your *.pat which mean your games is also corrupted. I discuss with you further when i m home again.

I tested your Itunes volume mentioned, and i cant do anything at this stage.

For battery saving, you will sacrify alot of cool stuff and i hate to do coz i feel like going backward instead goin further.

Here is the list you can do:-
1) Screen Brightness set to 0

2) Under Network Setup -> Set the SPEED to Medium and if possible SLOW (this will may induces problem to making calls)

3) Under Network Setup -> Set the your band to tri-band if you dun use 850Mhz and if required set only band that you needed. (Coz i got feeling quad-band will use more power for DSP processing and searching network).

SEEM 0025_0001
**all offsets are HEX**
offset 00 - bit 0, bit 3: 900/1800 and 1900 (set each of these bits to 1)
bit 0, bit 1, bit 3: 850/1900 and 900/1800 (set each of these bits to 1)
bit 0, bit 2, bit 3: 850/1900 and 900 (set each of these bits to 1)
bit 2, bit 3: 850/1900 and 1800 (set each of these bits to 1)

4) Under seem 0032_0001 offset 7c bit 2, set no display during standby.

6) Under Ringstyles -> Off the eventlight.
7) Under Intial Setup -> Backlight set to minimum, eg. 5 sec.

I hope the above points will able to help you make your phone last upto 72 hours (max. with normal call usage).

I had a similar issue with Java games and apps not working. I had a folder with all of my junk I load on my phone after a flash. In that file I had some cool icons that I would replace the default ones with in the Moto folder. I finally nailed it down that this is what caused my Java to act up. Once I replaced the original Moto dat and ski from this MP all was well again with Java.

Muncheno: Why are the Symbian dat and ski files in the Moto skin folder along with the default Moto dat and ski? I have some different icons I like to use instead of the default ones but can't for some reason. Also what defines the cool sounds made when pressing the menu, soft, send and end key buttons? At one point I lost those and only had the default Moto sounds. I reflashed and got them back but I am not sure what I did to lose them to begin with.

- No more hiden file
- add Make secure jar tool
This function will working like es_f1.exe does...
The idea is ... some times i don't wanna to use cable
just for a small manner like install java game or etc.
Now, we can just drag n drop using blueTooth adapter to i398
n move it into kjava folder with iPhone..
And even more with this iPhone version we can give the acces to
whatever java application we want.

PS) IMO this is a must have java application...n hopefully we can
get it by default in your verynice MP. (thanks mate)

I notice you fix the 'rename' function also besides enabling it to make secure jar tool. I was estatic when u include 'Send via BlueTooth' option under your iPhone Util but still under construction :P There was only a few things I want to determine:
1) I notice you cannot view picture already using this iPhone Explorer compare to the previous one where u can view picture in full-screen. Did u do this on purpose or accidentally forgot?
2) When viewing .mp4 under this Explorer, the application will hang and exit. Any ideas on this?

Anyway, great job on the iPhone Explorer. What JDK compiler are you using anyway? V1.5 is it?

I dun really have problem so far, even thought my battery can run for 1.5-2 days depending on my usage. Minimum to me also 1 days if i m testing the phone for whole day....music...video rec....etc...etc.

u know what i think we need; i think we need a java program that acts like a walkie talkie =) i dont know how to code j2me but I'm thinking since we have the jrecorder why cant we just send what we are saying and play it on the other side

That is because of the iTunes 'date cheat'. You have to live with it, or flash a standard lang-pack and lose the cheat.

seem 0032, offset 82, bit 6. set it to 0.

Please note, pcmmod v1.4e is already way out dated. Please check for all the newest MP that make from R373_G.0E.42R or 43R hacked for E398. It is many times better than 1ER MP.

Try to unlock itunes with pinter 1.0 and then install Pcmmod!
It worked for me!!

I flashed my cel with Pinter 1.0 MP and I´ve got itunes cracked using Flashbackup 2.3!! Than I saved my pds and restored it after flashed my phone with pcmmod 43R! Itunes was there!... working !!

download gaintable.bin, use p2kcommander to download, it's located at partition a/
backup the file

open the file with hexeditor
go to
offset 19 set value to 00
offset 3D set value to 00
upload the edited file back to the phone

After uploading seem 0371 don´t restart your phone by the program!
Turn it off manually and turn it on in bootloader mode! A guy from another forum (orcuut) wrote that! Hope it will help u!

actually u can fix the loud vibration directly from p2ktools...check the option from the menu, yes the default setting for PCMModv1.2 is very loud so i lowered it down a notch to fix it. i like the razr skin a lot...fits very well with black e398.

Problem: systemizing sound (any of the profils!) for the messages (SMS) with a certain music, it disappears when getting the first SMS. Entering the munu, I find the sound for the messages always empty.

It just a flash firmware and some other files, but never flash the flex.

help for newbeez,
Why someone of you guys do not write an application to keep safe all changes made in the phone after flashing a new mod?
It's really frustrating re-setting all my preferences after, right?

u r doin a great job to motorolaE398 community & I appriciate it very much.I wanted to DL the 45r but the esnips bandwidth has exceeded its limits, I will try to DL it tmr. I need a favour from u. I have installed WIN XP 64 bit edition and it does not recognize the E398 drivers. Can u help me on this. THANX in advance

get the drivers from pkman.zip
then use control panel to configure it if it doesnt pick up the device right away.

1. You can get 45r from my site.
2. XP 64bit can't use 32bit drivers, and I don't think there are any 64bit P2K drivers out. You might have to dual boot XP64/XP32

THANX Abomination for the help and hope that Russian guys develop drivers for 64 bit edition. I DLd the files from your site. Nice collection of goodies.U too are doing a great job for the E398 community. Keep up the good work. I have installed the 45r and it really is very fast.THANX again.

Hey I'm still usin 1.4d2 on my fone with r373_G_0E.30.1ER. I had to much study and exams. Is the latest MP heaps better than what I'm using?

The two things I'd like know is:

1. Is the delay when you stop catpuring video fixed?

2. Is the battery life better?

1. It's definately better now

2. Slightly, not as good as R372 still

How many times i have to post this..? I no longer want to support old PCMMod this is PCMMod v1.0-v1.4e.

The lastest version is PCMMod E398@Rokr v1.3 and to9, i will come out with E398@Rokr v1.4 based on 6FR fw. The greatest advantage right now..is unlimited video recording is possible, however slower on Java Apps. Read other thread yourself to findout more info.

I not sure here...should i ask the moderate to stop anyone posting to this thread? I just want to avoid confusion on PCMMod v1.4 which i dun support any enquiries anymore. As you know this is already outdate FW.

Muncheno I'm using your lateset MP E398@ROKR v1.3 with 378_...45R and I can only get 1.27 mins recording on fone or tf memory.

I flashed Pinter MP 1.0 first and seem editied using method 1 of cracking iTunes which was successful then installed you MP E398@ROKR v1.3(note:iTunes still works).

Would the fact I edited the seems for iTunes to work be causing this? If so what seem edit enables unlimited video please? If there is a more appropriate place to post these sort of questions could you please post a link thnx.

I change to 3 MP differents,
I edited the seems for iTunes to work, but don´t work ...I repeat very times...and nothing ..the messege ever is the same ERROR ABOUT ITUNES NOT BEING SUPPORTED ON THIS PLATFORM.
I follow step by step but it is the same error.

I Try first BGm after Pinter and
1PCMMod E398@Rokr_v1.4d_MP_without_CG6.7z by Muncheno...
Back my old MP, repeat all again...I follow instrutions of http://mirror.softcox.com/e398-to-ROKR/
I Try Intructions at my language...and..Nothig....

Sorry, Jason...What you need to do is downgrade your bootloader to 07.D0. I think the bootloader still can be found in one of my site. You need to find Ashlay 07.D0 bootloader or other bootloader flash.

Once you find that you should able to change it to

phone Boot Loader is [COLOR=Red]07.D0/COLOR]
R372_G_0E.20.96R_A

...then from here, you could upgrade to any lastest MP.

Just to inform everyone reading this ....again and again ....the v1.4d2 is based on I398 or 1ER firmware is wayout outdated. Please read more on E398@Rokr flash/firmware.
