Guys, any thoughts: on why Siemens a huge German Conglomerate would get themselves involved with this Mickey Mouse, can't upgrade our own phones by flash software. Possible huge amounts of returns costing $$$$$$$$$$. Even though the manual page 81 says we can.
How about this, S46 unlike all the other phones they make, can't be flashed by us at all.
Reason: AT&T does not want the phone flashable or upgradeable, to stop users from flashing to take the lock off. Thus making the phone only usable with their SIM. Even though the total & original plan behind GSM is you can switch sims & phones around the world at will.
Any one think of a better reason, why any company would open themselves up to huge returns.

... I would imagine AT&T would foot the bill for the returns, or set up a method to refurbish the returns and mail them out to business/bulk customers.
I can't imagine Siemens being stupid enough to agree to foot the bill for AT&T's benefit

My point exactly. No way that Siemens would take this on. They can easily place the firmware on the WEB, at no cost to them. So why wouldn't they.
Hence only one reason only won interested party in this debacle.
Yep AT&T that mammoth money losing monster. How else do you go from being one of the worlds biggest companies to being bankrupt. They mostly owe more then their stock worth.
