How do i get it to work? I have unlimited media net and would like to use my laptop from time to time just to check out a webpage for info. I am not trying to use it for major surfing just when i am out of town and have no connection to the web and need to check up or or check out a site for information.

Be carefull when you do that. Connecting to laptop require a laptop plan and this had been talked about many times. Do the search and you would find many topic regarding this. Some of them had been charged $$$$$ for doing that even they had the MediaNet plan.

Oh... I didnt want to pay the extra money for the laptop plan if i was only goin to use it like that maybe once a month when i go out of town for the weekend.. hmm thanks for the heads up..

I know when i had verizon i could use a dial up type service for free it would just take away minutes and i only ever used it on the weekends when it was free minutes.

That'd be called CSD or data connect according to cingular. Check my sig and good luck.

there are a ton of threads about tethering. I do it everyday with my 6682 and have no problems. You just have to be sure PPU Wix is off of your account. Read up before you do it, but once it's set up right, you'll be fine. Don't let a few people on here try to scare you into not doing it. If everything is set up correctly you will not be charged!

Well when i tried to get it to work with my media net i always get an error when trying to get it to set up as a modem... or tethering i guess is the term i should be using... I will search more and see if i can't solve this...
