How to get "My Network List" to show?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

With andyahs' help, I successfully got most of the advanced network selection menus to show. I even was able to enable the engineering field test menus.

However, I seem to be missing the "My Network List" menu that allows me to order network preference. I edited all the right bits seem 0032_0001 at offsets 2, 14, 15, and 54 to enable the menus, but this sub menu is missing.

At the main Network screen, I have the following, with only Networ Setup containing further sub-menus:

New Network
Network Setup
- Band
- Type
- Speed
Available Networks
Service Tone: off
Call Drop Tone: On

Where should I expect to find the "My Network List?" menu? Is it possible that enabling the service and call drop tone menus is displacing space needed for the "my network list entry?"

Currently the only way I can enable 310-380 network, which is strongest (4 bars) at a friends house (the phone otherwise goes to 310-410 with only one bar) is to select "available networks," and then select it. It will stay at that until I travel away from the area, after which it goes back to 310-410. I've NEVER gotten it to successfully register with 310-260 (T-Mobile).

Any ideas so I can make 310-380 my preferred network?

Thanks,
Kevin

You have to seem edit:

0032_0001
offset 15 - bit 3: Settings > Network > My Network List (1 on, 0 off)

Hmmm, I did that along with the other settings in bits 2, 4 and 5. Is there perhaps a companion change somewhere else, even in another seem? Sort of like offset 2, bit 1 and offset 54, bit 7 seem to work together....

Yes with offset 02 bit 1 you will lose Manual Network Selection and My Network List.

Seem 0032_0001
Offset 02 - bit 1: BLOCKS THESE FEATURES: Call barring, Call transfer, Info Services, do not read VM number from SIM, Voicemail ^@ text messages, Multi-Line Support, My Network List, Manual Network Search (1 on, 0 off - set to 0 to UNBLOCK these features)

Yes, I already have this bit set off and bit 3 of offset 15 set on, so the problem is elsewhere apparently. I'll likely start with a fresh seem again and go from there.

Thanks for all your help!

It is unfortunate that Motorola decided to put so much functionality into offset 02, bit 1. I turned it off and was impressed with the changes but I also started receiving the blasted ^@ VM messages so ultimately decided to turn it back on.

If you are going to flash with a MP just start fresh from there.

andyahs,

Yes, I agree, but I am moving slowly and I'm glad that I did, because I just discovered the Flashbackup and RAMLdr programs this morning, so I'll make a complete backup of the phone contents first, so I can go back to the stock software if needed.

However I WAS able to get "My Network List" to show! As I conjectured, my V600 is apparently only able to show 5 menu items under the network main menu. I turned off the bit that enabled "service tone" and my network list showed up on the next restart (it's bit was already enabled but it didn't work).

At first I was very disappointed to find that it only shows the network list, but I could not re-order the preference. I wanted to make ATT (310-380) my preferred "home." I was surprised to see this only had 4th priority, with a different cingular (310-150 as opposed to my local standard 310-410) 2nd, and USAFC (310-910) as 3rd! I never even heard of that company. Eventually I did discover the "insert" function and made 310-380 my priority, though 310-410 is still shown as my home.

I also think I found why T-Mobile (310-260) wouldn't register. It wasn't even listed in the 27 on "My Network List." I ended up adding it manually and now it's 3rd priority.

I did also change the bit to allow the carrier name to be pulled from the phone/tower instead of the SIM, so it's nice to see AT&T Wireless without going into engineering menu to confirm the MNC.

I'll likely take the monster pack flashing in the next few days after doing backups.

Is there a preferred program for flashing monster packs and reflashes to a V600? I saw some people had trouble with some and the PKman PST edition and RSD Lite was recommended instead. Is one better and more reliable than the other?

Thanks,
Kevin

Hmm, I am noticing that the "My Networks List" may be removed by your carrier with a simple OTA update. Fido V400 phones used to show the My Networks List before the Rogers-Fido integration, and now some v400s are showin the correct alpha tag: FIDO, but those phones have the menu completely hidden. Weird!
