Doom RPG

Doom RPG showed up on Cingular's website today, but it's not available for my phone. Does anyone know if it will be available for Series 60, like my NGage?

It will be a strange game I think. The thing I always liked about FPS games was it relied on a personal skill level instead of a "how much do you play it and level up" skill level.

I agree, just played it for abit and damn, not to bad at all, my only dislike is the grey box surrounding the play area, but overall very nice, it's also got to be the largest filesize I've seen for a moto game too, bigger then Midevil Combat, which is also an amazing game on the V635, but even better on the S710a.
I can't wait for Doom RPG to be released for the S710a, with its larger screen it will be even better!

just got it myself for e815, very fun! it was like final fantasy meets doom. I just bought it w/o reading about it (doom fanboi, sorry) and was expecting it to be like the fps, but the turn based actions turned out to be fun too

I can't download the game. I have a V635 on Tmobile. Jamdat won't release it for TMobile. I checked and its available for the V3. So I know its compatable.

You'll probably have to buy the Mobile Phone Tools software from microsoft. It's $29.99 on their site if you don't need anything besides the software.

I know, it sucks....While other manufacturers offer the software and drivers for free....Motorola charges for it.

You do not need to buy MPT to extract a java game, nor do you need to actually buy it either lol
Easiest way is to use P2kman and once connected go the Kjava folder, once there just look for the .jar file. You will notice they are named j2me0, j2me1 etc. To figure which one is you DOOM game, look in your java folder on your actually cell and count down to it, the first game in the list being j2me0. In p2kman just download from phone to pc and then rename it. The above should apply to using P2ktools/com as well I believe.
Best way to get all the drivers you need is to download and install MPT or PST, but if you have p2ktools/commander working I doubt you need any other drivers to get p2kman to work.

Did you upload it to your cell via BT Obex Push or using Midway? You cannot add it using P2kman as it doesn't install that way.

When running the game. It loads fine... seems ok

When I start to start a new game, i go through the intro.. but gives a wierd error and stops. At that point i have to exit the game manually. Never once did I get the game to start properly.

Himself emailed me the game. I upped it via Midway creating the .jad file.

I haven't tryed the object push through bluetooth. Here is the error:

"We're sorry, an error has occurred. Please try starting the application again. Error details: DoomCanvas. run:java.lang. NullPointerException"

Wierd!

I need to get my website back up and operational so i can download games on the fly.

Ya, let me give yours a shot on my V300 via datacable and see if goes. I haven't tried mine on the v300 yet, a friend is borrowing it, but I did delete mine from my v635 and reinstall it via BT and it worked. I will give the data cable a shot with yours and mine later on my V635 when I get home.

On a side note, other people who read this, don't bother sending me a PM for the game as it will be ignored. Sorry, but I am not going to spend my day responding to who knows how many people wanting it.

Ya, you need a modified Jad file for it to work, seems just uploading the jar that's been removed from a cell via p2k will just give you an error after the main screen. And no, I don't have it unfortunately, so don't PM me about it lol

So I had the game on my v551 and I just recently switched to a v3 now I have no way of getting the game off of my v551 and onto my v3 without buying it again. I was about 1/2 way through the damn game! If I come across a data cable for my v551 can I then pull the game off the v551 using p2ktools? Then re-install it on my v3? If I can do this I would be happy to post the game up somewhere for you guys so you don't have to buy it. Any thoughts?

Just one prob. Have you read the rest of this thread?? If you use p2k tool the game doesnt work if you upload it again with the cable.

Sorry didn't read the last two posts. I hadn't seen anyone trying it via p2k. It looked like a lot of bluetooth and begging to me. Anyway, I guess I have to re-download the game. That is for sucks.

Will uploading doom via bluetooth definitely work (on my motorola v3)? Cause i dont wanna go buy an adapter and not have the game work cause they're not that cheap where I live.

i bought the game off the rogers website, and copied the jar file onto my computer before i flashed my phone with a new monster pack. Only problem now is that I have that stupid intro error. Annoying as hell. So if anyone does have the "modified" jar file. plz send it my way. It would be greatly appreciated

I have the original Doom FPS on my phone. So far, it'll only run on S60 or S80 phones, and the files are monstrous - at least 7 megs between the launch file which contains the Doom source code and the Doom shareware wadfile - if you want ot use the registered versions, it's double that - so a memory card is also necessary.

it doesn't work. It says invalid file. If i create a jad file using JadMaker, the contents are alot different, but it at least installs. Maybe a combination of the two. I guess building off the one created and adding in certain parts until it works maybe.

Its wierd why it works sometimes and not others. I noticed the level in the jad listed. Maybe changing that to level1.bsd or something.

I have the "real" version of the game (paid for download) on my razr and it does the same thing. Lots of Gray space. It is just the way that it is. Love the game though. Lots of fun. Best cell phone game I have ever played. Beats the hell out of the 2d scrollers that I always seem to play.

You can get a free version of Doom for Mobile at this site.

It is a SIS file so only works on Nokia S60's really and I think a Siemens SX1

Anyway, it's tons better than the java version.

Here is the place where I got my Doom RPG game from. There are lots of other games there too, and all for free.

To get my doom working, I just found the URL path for the Doom RPG JAR file, and typed it very carefully into my "GO TO URL" button on my phone. Its case sensitive, but it works. I've done it many times for several games.

Is there a way to play this kid on the Nokia 3650? When I try installing it (along with a few other >100k java games) it tells me "Application: System error!"

I'm not sure if the flight mode will work, since THe Psiloc prog isn't doing the flight mode properly on my 3650. Is there any other way to activate flight mode? Or for that matter, to play Doom RPG / AoE2 / those other newer java games.

So far the only way I can enjoy this is on the PC with the VERY, very quick MidpX emulator, but the 'feel' of a quick mobile game is then gone.

It's there for the SE phones, but does it work for the Motos? I don't recall seeing it in the Moto section, small as it is since it's mainly a Sony forum, but I haven't been in there for a while.

There are plenty of boards that will let you post up warez, cracks, whatever to your hearts content. This is just not one of them, which is what I am trying to get into your head, but which you don't seem to want to understand, that's fine. I'm just passing along the info to help keep the board clean (so Gameloft for example, doesn't come crying) and to warn you so you don't get banned. The mods in this section seem pretty lax anyway so it doesn't look like you have much to worry about.

Sorry to rez the thread, but I can't seem to get sound going in the Doom RPG on my Treo 750. It'll play, and do vibration normally, but if I select sound on the options screen it just crashes back to the desktop. Any suggestions?
