Posted by: spartacus13b

we have been working those hours on the blue side for a long time... so its nothing new to me but it does suck trust me

Posted by: johngotti

I didnt take one day off last December (except christmas of course)... and worked those hours... but damn did I make some $$$$$$$$ its well worth the effort...

Posted by: Alfred_Neuman

maybe to YOUR store but for mine?

we dont get people at our doors till 9:30am.

we dont get people IN the store by 8pm. rare occasions do we get them at 8:59pm.

theres no point to this.

those hours are horrible though...10am-7pm are our holiday hours. normal is 10am-6pm mon thru fri. 10-4 on sat. and yes...it does kick arse getting off at 4 on saturday.

I love being an non-hourly employee... No way in hell I'd work new years day or till 10pm...

Posted by: Alfred_Neuman

nor am i working ny day.

Posted by: ivwshane

Not being paid on new years must be a cingular thing. I used to love working on holidays and getting time and half with at&t.

If christmas is like anything it was last year then good luck guys! Unless you work in a high volume store or a mall store my bet is that this christmas will only be slightly better than a normal month.

I expect that come january 2006 layoffs will be a possibility, happy new year!:|

non hourly so guess i wont be working those hours thank god

Posted by: panrispter

my stores normal mall hours are 10 til 930.... new hours are gonna be 930am til 10 and then the week before christmas is gonna be 9am til 1030pm, with the saturday before christmas all the way from 830am til 1030pm! and we are not a busy mall. 5pm on christmas eve.
luckily monday i start my new position so i definitely wont be working those kind of hours.

hell the day after thanksgiving at my mall 6:00am-9:30pm. happy shopping for all those ederly people and may they can get the early bird special at the sizzler.

Which mall are you at in the Lou?

im a little confused. how is the holidays gonna suck? holidays will be freakin awesome. don't you work on commission? i know i do, and im about 99.99999% sure all other employees do as well. so holidays=more customers= more hours=more hours to sell=more sales=more money. isnt that the goal? to make the most money possible. thats my goal at least. i like money. im really suprised to see the amount of people who dont like money and arent willing to work a little extra or harder to make an extra buck or two. but hey, what do i know, im just a salesman.

well lets see........

2 stores that a lot of people know where its at compared to us.

noone comes to our store before 9:30pm and dont come in usually after 8:30pm.

so waste of time.

Posted by: vuittongirl

day after christmas- 6am. have to be there around 5:30 just to open and get store ready. Sucks cause most people will just go to the major department stores and then later around 10 when the mall usually opens will i have people.
Oh well. Its coming around the corner.

Just our regular hours irks me. Mon - Sat 9am to 9pm, and Sundays 11am to 6 pm.

Our store practically never sees anyone past 7:30 pm. I get so bored I unfortunately get very iritable.

My point, if any of the morons higher up at Cingular might happen to be reading, is that you CAN NOT set national or even regional hours in a blanket fasion.

Hours and quotas should be set on a store by store case, not regional. We have to be losing money staying open later. Employee pay, utilities...etc...it makes no sense.

I have a life, and if the store stays open later and we never get any customers during that time, then it is a waste of my time to be there. I could be doing anything else....like living my life.

Oh my gosh.....those hours sucked. We had a kiosk right across from the Toy store and as I came in to open there were tons of people sitting ontop of our cabinets waiting for the toy store to open I think we were 6 to 9 though...... glad I'm outta there

I don't even know what our mall's hours are going to be. I'm sure I'll be working some 12-14 hour days though. I'm not looking forward to it unless our sales go up. A LOT.

Posted by: adlman

Try our mall's holiday hours: 7 a.m. till 11 pm. starting 5 days a week right after Thanksgiving. We won't have anyone in the store during the week until 10 a.m. and no one in the mall after 8 p.m. but gives lots of time to catch up on the email backlog.

haha that's why I am leaving the country Dec 28 to January 6th! No New Years day working for me! lol :-)

Posted by: sevensinz777

... you guys think its bad??? my store is expected to trend 1300+ activations!!! for the month of DEC ... (mgr wants us to hit 1500) thats a lot of B.S. customers that we will have to deal with, and we have a few wierdos patroling our store... SBC DSL GUY (Creepy Old Guy) ... SBC L.D CHICK (Looks Like a DYKE) ... and our hired greeter (i think dude likes me *ARGH* i dont swing that way) - we got 20 reps (most of them real ugly, except me of course and the hottie mexican chick), 2 assist managers, and 1 manager... foot traffic of about 300 people a day (and thats no mall area, thats an actual store, we get about 150-200 daily)- and sure enough they aint too pretty either. SWEAT! BODY HEAT! STINKY IMIGRANTS! OH BOY LOTS OF FUN!!! ... sure your saying 1200 actos wow thats a lot of money, but the pain involved around all this traffic is pure nightmare! every year it hits us like the polar express and when it hits, it hits hard... hopefully the check in january will be a nice plump one so that i can take my 2 week vacation to the north pole and kick santa's a-hole for thinking up of christmas ... haha jk i love christmas, just hate the whole fact im working in the stir of it all

I remember working that at the Parks in Arlington mall in texas around christmas. there was only 3 of us employed at the time total so the manager and I had a lot of fun working the 7-11 straight for 4 days out of the 5...... lol....

after working that shift, i don't care much about holiday hours and it also helps I've worked in retail my whole working life. the hours suck but oh well, at least I have somewhere to work!
