Cingular Benefits

Hello Everyone I was just hired by Cingular should be starting in the next week or two. I am wondering if they offer "inexpesive" benefits. I currently work for a company and am paying 35.21/week for my entire family, wife & 2 kids. That includes Medical, Dental, and Vision. Is Cingular known for "cheap" benefits?? I will be a Retail Sales Agent down in South Florida. Let me know what you all think. Thanks.

I dunno if it is on a state by state basis, since not every state is unionized.

But just for myself, I pay $15 a month for health insurance, which included vision and dental.

If I am not mistaken, a whole family is only around $50 a month. Atleast in PA.

I pay $7 a month for health/vision/dental/etc, including the health plus option.

For myself, wife, and son, I pay about $48.00 a month for med/dent/vision.

$48.00 a month. Wow!!! I was concerned that I may be leaving a company with cheaper benefits. I am paying $35.00 a week. Looks like a made a good decision all around. Looks like more opportunity for growth also!!

Since the Cingular AT&T merge: I was paying $34 per biweekly pay period for me, wife, and 2 kids on the EPO. Because AZ is not union, this will be going up to $108 per biweekly pay period plus higher copayments and lower drug benefits as of Jan. 2006. The dental was $4 and is going up to $14. Why would a company do this? Are they trying to strongarm people into going union? While I would probably vote for it, most workers here will not so I don't believe that the union will be comping in here.

We're not union where I am. They haven't even voted on it yet, and I still get good prices on benefits. In fact, my medical is going DOWN by $10.00 a month.

Must be a market/region thing.

Because of the "merging" healthcare benefits changes, if you are a former AT&T employee that doesn't make a choice on which benefits you want during open enrollment this year, you will be put at the PPO (lowest) level of benefits. Here in AZ that would mean $12 per biweekly pay period. However, to get the benefits our family has now with the AT&T EPO plan at $34, we have to go with the Cingular EPO selection which is $102 (missed it by $6 in last post ) I'm not sure if any of this applies to Cingular Orange employees or not. Just to be sure for your family you may want to take one more look at what plan they have you on. Open enrollment here lasts until Nov. 15th, which is Tuesday. Good luck!

Cingular's benefits are very competitive. A friend of mine who works for an international company (shall remain anonymous) and pays nearly $40 bi-weekly for health insurance for himself (no wife/kids). This does not include dental or vision. This speaks volumes b/c its the company who actually subsidizes the amount. So, the less you pay is more the company pays. So be happy! :-)
