So I was out helping my friend move out of his dinky place and back in to his parents house yesterday. I never wanted to be there but who ever wants to move heavy crap around?
So I put my 650 on a shelf to keep it out of harms way... but that shelf ened up being knocked by something and my 650 went falling the 4 feet to a concrete floor. The phone and PDA parts seem fine but the screen is cracked in like FIVE different places. GRRRRR
So my question is... Is there a way that I can get a new screen and repalce the old one or should I just chalk it up as a loss and get a new 650? Ooor I have been reading a lot about the KJam, should I even be looking at that?
For the Kjam question: I use mostly verichat /snappermail /chat sessions and pocket tunes oh and sometimes Novii Remote (when I want to mess with people at a bar) Are there similar programs for the Kjam? I'm sure there are but I'm not all that familiar with WM phones.
Please any help would greatly be appreciated!!!

you're with Cingular.... try calling up Lockline, and getting your phone inssured.. You might have to wait a while, I'm not sure what stipulations Lockline has with pda's. Last I heard there was no way to replace the screen on a 650, either that or it costs so much that you might as well buy a new treo.

Well I call lockline and they still don't offer any help with the treo's. I did read somewhere in the fourm that plam charges 170 +/- for a screen replacment. I might go that route unless anyone has anyother options???

Do you have home owner's insurance? Try that if the deductible isn't to high. All of my other ideas have to do with breaking the law, so I won't go there.

Try www.pdaparts.com. They sell 650 screens when they have some in stock. If you feel confident enough to replace it yourself, that is.
Good luck!

For what its worth...I cracked the LCD on my i330 last year and it cost me $150 for Samsung to repair it. Worst part was the month it took for the turn around. Be sure to send it insured if you go this route.

my suggestion is that if your tech savvy enough then go for the replacement yourself. If you decide to insure it after the attempt most companies will no take it due to the fact you tried to fix it yourself. If your insured pick up a cheap replacement phone from a friend and have the company fix it

Thanks for all your help... After all trouble of trying to find a screen that was intact and good enough to replace mine. I have decided to send it back to Palm and have them replace the screen. They tell me the turn around is 7 days and it only cost me $175 bucks. A little more than buying a used screen off ebay. I will let anyone know (who's interested) how it all went.
BTW if anyone needs anything techie done- let me know I do consider myself tech savvy
Oh and ataq I love the sig I can watch it all day!
