GSM Samsung Software Links EasyGPRS, Easy Studio, PC Studio 2 & 3

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: Mango808

I've compiled a list of the software links below since it comes up all the time to which software or where can I get it. Some people have it when they get their phones, while others don't so here they are.

GSM Samsung Software

EasyGPRS 2.1.8, Easy Studio II PIM & File Manager 1.0, PC Studio PIM & File Manager 2.0 & 3.0

Phones that use EasyGPRS 2.1.8: and the PCB093LBE 9-pin serial data cable.

X105, X426, X427, X427m, C207, E315, E316, E317, P107, S307,V205, V206, E105, E715, D415, S200, S300, V200 and a few others
Link for EasyGPRS 2.1.8 if the link doesn’t work, Download the Easy Studio II PIM & File Manager 1.0 below as it is compatible with these models as well according to Samsung.

Phones that use Easy Studio and the OEM USB (square flat plug in) that normally comes in the box or purchased separately:

P207, P777, X497, X495, E635 and a few others

Easy Studio II PIM & File Manager 1.0 Download

Reference Samsung FAQ/Support Page

D500, E720, E730, E350 and a few others use PC Studio PIM & File Manager 2.0 instead of the Easy Studio II PIM & File Manager 1.0. Note: You must use the correct cable for your specific phone model as some phones are wired differently, but still use the same software. If you do not have an OEM (made by Samsung) Data Cable, then good luck in getting it to work properly.

Go to this site to view your model and download the software. Note: Most are the same and adapt to the phone that is connected so downloading the same version for one phone and using it on another, will work.

Samsung Software & Manual Download Page

Or click on the individual links to download automatically. Note: The file size will vary for each software.

PC Studio PIM & File Manager 2.0 (44.9 MB)

PC Studio Image Editor 2.0 (28.2 MB)

PC Studio USB Driver 2.0 (0.2 MB)

PC Studio Internet Access 2.0 (14.0 MB)

PC Studio PC Sync 2.0 (61.7 MB)

Or you can go here World Wide Manual & Software Download Page and go through the step by step to find your phone model.

D600 uses the PC Studio PIM & File Manager 3.0 software.
Most should get it in the box with the OEM Data Cable. If the software was not in the box, download it by clicking on the link below. Note: The file size is 42.8MB.

Installing GPRS Modem

The driver is put on the computer after you install the PC Studio/Easy Studio PIM & File manager software and you have to manually install it if the install program didn't prompt you for it. It has to be installed so that the computer knows which COM Port to connect to the phone.

Go to Control Panel
> Open Phone and Modem Options
> Go to Modems Tab
> Click Add
> Check the Don't detect my modem, I will select from a list box, then Next
> Select Samsung on the left window and then the GPRS Modem on the right, then Next/Okay
> At this point make sure the cable and phone is connected to the computer
> Select All Ports or the one that is in the lower box, then Next (remember which COM Port it is) and that should be it.
The computer will need to be restarted for the settings to take effect.

Once restarted.

Open the PC Studio/Easy Studio PIM & File manager (it will probably give you an offline message so ignore it until it goes away) then
> Go to File
> Setup
> Connections
> Dropdown menu, select the COM Port the GPRS Modem was installed on and choose 115200 as the speed (not really required, but I do) then OK.
That should be it as the phone should be recognized and it will start to read from the phone.

I don't know how many times I've had to explain installing this to other people whether it's for the Data Cable or using a USB/onboard Infrared Port (if the phone has one). I have not tried using a Bluetooth connection yet as I haven’t the time. Besides I already have the data cable or use infrared just fine.

Thank You for sharing, I've been looking for long time!!!

Can we not connect to this software via bluetooth (SGH-D500)?

Posted by: IsLNdbOi

So do we need a D500 USB data cable to transfer contacts to the D500 or can we use bluetooth or IR for connection? I just want to transfer contacts in Outlook 2003 to my D500' phone book.

Posted by: Mango808

Here's another Website to look for the PC Studio and other software for your GSM Samsung phone not listed on the UK Samsung Fun Club site above. The PC Studio and even the earlier Easy Studio, EasyGPRS software was not really phone specific and it adapted to what phone was connected so downloading one version of the software listed under one phone works with other phones with the same version listed for it. However, you would need to have the correct data cable if that is the only way you are going to use it. Infrared and Bluetooth depends on your setup.

Ok. I do have a bluetooth dongle and a D500. So will I be able to connect to PC Studio or EasyGPRS to transfer Outlook 2003 contacts to my D500?

Hello,

I bought a cable to connect my cell phone to my laptop so that if I lost my phone I could have all the information. The only problem is, the information is only available when I connect my phone to the computer. How do I save this information to my computer. I have already downloaded the samsung pc studio II PIMS & file manager. I have a samsung sgh-x427 phone. Please let me know what I can do to solve this problem.

Thanks,

Nate

Below is my little guide that I use to do it. Even though it is for EasyGPRS 2.1.8, It is basically the same for the Easy Studio II and PC Studio software. I have the PC Studio 3 software which is a little different from the EasyGPRS, Easy Studio II, and PC Studio 1 & 2 software look.

EasyGPRS Copy Phonebook method. (PC Studio works as well)

In 2.1.8 with your phone connected, select Phonebook in the top left corner, and then select Phone MS or Phone SIM in the lower left window to show your phonebook in the Phone or SIM. (In PC Studio, it should be a little different for the Tabs on the left side of the screen and it should be Phone ME for the phones memory)

Next highlight the first entry on the right side window, Right Click and Select All, then Right Click again and select Copy.

Next Click on the Computer in the lower left corner and the Phone Book will be clear. (Don't worry you are just moving to view what is in the computer)[In PC Studio it should be PC instead of Computer]

Place the Cursor anywhere in the empty Phonebook screen (yellow side in EasyGPRS and Easy Studio, but white in PC Studio), Right Click and Paste.

It will say Copy... in the lower left part of the program for a while then it should say Copy successful.

Now you should have a backup copy of your phonebook in the program. If you want to copy or delete the phonebook on your phone or to a new phone just do the same process except choose what you need to do (i.e. copy or delete).

I have been able to do this so that all my phones have the same Phonebook loaded in the phones memory. I also used this to copy the entries to my SIM and then used the Copy all from SIM to Phone function in my other (non-Samsung) phones to get them on my SE T637 and Nokia 6230b instead of re-typing them in again. Then I deleted them from my SIM, as I prefer not to have anything on it.

Thank you so much. It worked like a charm with no problems at all. I really appreciate your help!

No support for MAC's.

You'll need to find a friend with a Windows PC to use the software with your phone, as I'm sure you don't want to buy your own Windows PC.

Your instructions work great right up to the point of seeing the com ports available on the drop down menu in Easy Studio. What do you do when it is blank with no options available? Seems I have seen this question posted in various ways in the forums with no definative answer. Thanks in advance. I hope you can break the code...

Posted by: Mango808

If there are no COM Ports showing up in the program, it means that Windows hasn't recognized the cable that is connected and has no way of associating the program to a valid COM Port. Either the cable is useless or you may need to remove it and reboot the computer until it does recognizes it and your phone to load the proper drivers.

I have a E635, and Im trying to connect with the IR. Dont know if its a phone issue or PC issue. I have a HP tablet PC running XP and IRDA does not show a Com port #. Any ideas?

I have a SGH-E730 phone and cannot find the Users' Guide for Samsung PC Studio 2 anywhere. I want to know how to download music from the pc into the phone and photos too. More importantly music - that's the main reason why I bought the phone. Not sucessful in trying to sync music using Windows Media Player files.

Please help.

Thank you.

Posted by: cody666

You could probably find the answers with google in a second. For example, I searched for "Samsung PC Studio 2.0 user guide filetypedf" on google, and the very first result is "Samsung PC Studio II User’s. Guide".

Posted by: ArtNYC

Cody666. That's what I did. I went to Google first and got the exact same pdf you mentioned BUT that's the users guide for the phone SGH-E730 NOT for PC Sutdio II. Beats me why the users guide is not on the CD.... Would appreciate any help on how to download music from the computer to the phone. I can upload picture from the phone to the computer but not the other way round.

Thanks

Posted by: cody666

Can I ask why don't you just use the built-in manual? Start > All Programs > Samsung PC Studio II > PIMS & File Manager > PIMS & File Manager Help
. It has easy instructions and pictures.

The manuals do come on the CD, you just have to install the software first.

I have a 31MB manual for Samsung's PC Link 2000. You can have that if you want. It's all in Spanish or Portugese. It has nice pretty pictures if that helps.

I have SGH -E730. From the Studio PIM & File... I cannot upload images or music to phone because the 2 icons are blur (same in the tool menu. Pleave advise how I can overcome this.

Thanks

Posted by: GuitrMn35

Hey Chagewood1 Check out this site

http://www.sprintusers.com/focus/

All you need to do is make the ringer the length that you want it to be, and convert it to a .m4a. Once you've done that, go to the site, search for your file, put in your phone's info, and send it.

Hello, can someone help me please? The icons for uploading images and music to the phone are blur out (not availbale). Any advice on how to overcome this would be appreciated. Thank you.

If they are blurred/grayed out, it means that either the phone doesn't support it or the provider branded firmware has been made to block them from being used.

Some versions no longer use them as the function is now in the File Manager part of the program. If it is blurred/grayed out in the File Manager, then it is not supported or is blocked from being used with that phone.

I know that different models use some of the Icons while other models don't. Same with which folders are available to upload/download from.

Thank you for your reply. Appreciate it. On a ;personal note, if I knew then, I would not have bought this US$r350 piece of not-much-different-from-other-phone.......:-(

When I follow the directions above, everything works fine until I get to #7. It says to select "all ports" or "the one in the lower box". But I don't have the option to do that. There arn't any ports available. The box is blank. I don't have the option to click "all ports".

My phone is properly connected to the computer. When I plug it in windows promps "new hardware found" so that's definitely not the problem.

Anyone have any advice?
Thanks.

This forum is great! I have download PC Studio numerous times from Samsung's website direct along with other sources. NONE have worked until I stumbled upon this today. I will update you guys with how things are working out since I am installing as we speak.

Posted by: SexyDSM95

Ok tried the directions above...did not work

Which software and what steps do I take to get my PC to recognize my Samsung D807 (USB connection OEM cable), TIA.

PC Studio 3 is the version to use with the D807 as the Rogers (Canada) version of the D807 has the CD-Rom and data cable in the box. The Cingular D807 doesn't come with it and has some of the functions disabled when connected, which means not all of the applications within the PC Studio 3 software will be available for use.

Moderator HF 18

Posted by: SexyDSM95

^ ^ ^ Okay I understand that. I did download PC Studio V3 but when I plug my phone in, it starts asking for different drivers so my PC can detect the phone/device.

So what I am mainly asking is am I forced to purchase the software that would have the drivers? Or is there a way to download separately? As previously stated, I already have the cable just need to be set up.

Any Software for the samsung D807? i would appreciate it.... Thanks

Try Mobiledit. This soft works with many models (including the dificult x495, ufff!!!!!!). Irda, Bluetooth, serial or usb.

THZ FOR YOUR WORK

Posted by: ivnj

I haven't been here in a while. I saw this on the first page.

The driver is put on the computer after you install the PC Studio/Easy Studio PIM & File manager software

I have an E105 by Samsung. It used to work great with irda and easy gprs. I lost easy GPRS. It stopped being able to sync even before. I downloaded the PC Studio 2 from samsung. I've verified my irda port still works. I reinstalled XP and SP2. My old HD broke so I got a new Sata 160gb. And a fresh install of PC studio 2 and everything. But no sync.

I don't see any driver. The software didn't install anything except the program. When I go into modems in the contrpl panle and say add it just says Generic. No Samsung or anything non generic listed.

What am I missing.

Thanks,
ivnj

I really need help in getting a software so I can download Mp3 and pic to and from my phone. I just recently bought a samsung E350 and decided to buy a data link cable which model is : PCB113BDE. Im not sure if this is compatible with the phone or the software. When i first plugged inthe cable it said that i needed a software so it can sync the phone with the computer. So I decided to download samsung pc studio 2. When I opened the program it had offline and i cant get it online. also wen i selected tool the upload was greyed out. I decided to download the samsung driver, then when I plugged the cable in and i heard a connection sound and the phone was charging which meant the cable is working but the program still says its offline. I found this thread and I downloaded almost all the programs that Mango 808 put up and i still cnt get ne of them to work. I dont know if its that im not plugging the cable in the correct port or wat. I try to select both com 1 and com 3 and neither of them help. I have a hurricane computer which has two ports at the side of the cpu which i use to plug the cable in. I am totally fed up can someone please tell me wat to do or give me a software that will allow me to sync the phone with the computer, so i can get some music on my phone. any one with answers can IM me at cadsmania34@hotmail.com

Can anyone suggest maybe another software I could try? Anything that would help is appreciated.
