), but i would really really like to get some better ringtones on this thing w/o paying 2 bucks a pop. besides, i don't even like those junky pop music ringtones they peddle - i just want a normal non-polytone phone ring!

i can only assume the USB data cable Cingular sells will work with it... |

Calling All Samsung/ Cingular Users! If you are reading this and are a cingular user with a samsung phone, i am asking a favor of you. Will you please see if you can send yourself an email with a ringtone attached to it and see if you can download it to the phone...thnxs! |

install the Samsung USB drivers first, then plug in the phone with the USB cable. you will be prompted several times by Windows XP about new hardware - just choose to "Automatically Install" all hardware. Windows will prompt you about unsigned drivers, just click "Continue anyway" each time. it should add a whole bunch of different devices, including the modem function. when you are done Windows will have all the hardware registered and ready to use. the next step is to figure out which COM port your modem is on. if your GPRS modem software was installed properly you should be able to go to the "Phone and Modem Options" control panel in Windows and see "Samsung Mobile USB Modem II 1.0" available. next to it it will show the port - in my case it was on COM6. now open up the Samsung PC Studio II file manager (i'm assumming you downloaded and installed it), go to File -> Setup and select COM6 for the port. close the program, restart it, and it should sync everything up. |

i used a generic USB cable for Samsungs i got from Radio Shack. i got it a couple years ago for my Verizon A530 but it works fine. if you have the drivers and your pc recognizes the phone and GPRS modem, you can go to the Phone and Modems control panel in windows to figure out what port it is on. on my computer it is COM6, but it will vary. |

mobilesandpdas (Ebay Seller) to me More options 2:55 am (46 minutes ago) HI Peter, sorry about this. but good news.. got it figured out.. try this: SAMSUNG P207 ONLY USB DRIVER & SOFWARE: Use the driver at the bottom of this page and the PIMS software. http://support.samsung.de/modelsele...ype=SW&language * Connect the phone before starting * run the setup.exe in 'Samsung CDMA USB Driver' o This will create a device called 'WMC ACM 1.0 app', but no drivers for it * run the setup.exe in 'Samsung Mobile USB Driver' o This will run a number of things. At then end it works * Use the PIMS from the same website that had the drivers |
Can somebody please help me!!!! I am getting really desperate. I recently purchased a SGH-p207 after my Moto Mpx 220 got water damage. Because of that I wasn't able to copy any of my contacts to the sim. Now I desperately need to sync my HUNDREDS of contacts. I have a aftermarket data cable and driver which seem to work OK, but I cannot get it to work with the Samsung PC Studio II PIMS & File Manager. I downloaded it right from the samsung site, and I set it up on the proper port but it always says Offline mode at the bottom of the window. I have SCOURED the web for the answer to this, and though I did find some posts with people with a similar problem, I couldn't find the answer anywhere. Could somebody help me please!!!! Thanks

Did i mention tech support told me that I would be able to do that if I buy the kit from them as opposed to downloading from their web site? What a bunch of lies. What a pack of thieves. No more Cingular or Samsung for me in future ![]() |
