Lockline Backordered Nk 6682

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: SodaPop

so my 6620 decided it wanted to take a shower with me and jumped in the tub while i was setting up my bath. long story short, lockline approved replacement for 6682 (great).

Now they're telling me it's backorded. it's been the standard "2 to 3 business days". what can i do? store pick is not available and i dont have the cash to fork out for this new purchase other than the $50 deductible. anyone else have similiar experiences?

thx

Soda

just wait?

use your mpx220 in your sig

Posted by: pikapp168

Its well worth the wait though. I am so glad that they made this phone insurable. I use to have a 7610b but they didn't offer insurance on it.

Posted by: SodaPop

i really dont like motorolas. in fact that's the reason i was selling it was to get the nokia 6682. which luckily i am able to get through my nokia 6620 which is gone. argh i hate waiting im using a pacbell sim with nk 5190

Posted by: vietalogy

lol i just flamed someone in another thread for doing that EXACT thing

Posted by: PhantomFone

>>you know, the quote button does the same thing that you do...<<

FYI, it is not a requirement to utilize the "quote" feature. Therefore I choose not to use it. I've been using my methoding of quoting on forums for years. Get over it and get a life.

>>lol i just flamed someone in another thread for doing that EXACT thing<<

hahnyc87, you get a life too!

If you two have nothing better to do than attack people on forums for no apparent reason then you must have very uneventful lives. I pity you...

Phone topics should be posted in the phone forum, please!

Posted by: cingtony

Is there anybody over 12 posting on this subject . Its easy to have thousands of posts when all you do is whine over how somebody else posts or where they post instead of add any real value to anything. They have moderators to point this stuff out and just because you can't be hall monitor anymore doesn't mean ANYBODY wants to read how "UR SEW MUNCH SMARTR DEN EVRBODI" cause you can post on a forum prettier.

Posted by: ichiban658

I am anxiously waiting for my 6682 as well. I called Lock/Line on Monday, Oct 17th.

Posted by: Labula

I ordered mine over the phone from Cingular on Friday. Still backordered today. I'm sad. I want this phone damnit. D:

Posted by: walkguru

i think lockline and cingular are one. i just recieved my 6682 on monday after ordered it thursday.

while i respect your decision i thought i post in the general Cingular section since it was about Lockline/Cingular and not a particular phone (i just used the nk 6682 as an example.) but i see your point sorry.

Could you link me over to the website for the order status? Thanks.

http://www.cingular.com/order_status/order_status

There ya go!

Posted by: ichiban658

Thanks!

My status says that it is backordered and that it is "In Progress". I called Lock/Line today and the woman on the phone told me that I should expect it 5-7 days from when I called on Monday. I don't think it will be coming within that time frame though.

Posted by: Labula

I must be really dumb because on LockLine's website I can't find where to buy phones. D:

Posted by: MiataMan

Has any one heard an alternate offer for a replacement phone besides the 6682 ?

Posted by: ichiban658

Update:

I checked my status online and the site showed it as my order being canceled. I called Lock/Line and asked them to see what is up. She told me that my order was expired and she was just as confused as I was and that a special "team" would make sure that phone gets ordered. Blah.

Posted by: cingtony

Sounds like a load of bull , if they are backordered then they shouldn't have just cancelled the order . I have a bad feeling about this.

Posted by: ichiban658

Yeah I definitely agree. I just hope everything gets resolved.

Posted by: PhantomFone

>>She told me that my order was expired<<

Well, that much is correct. If an order is on backorder indefinitely then it will eventually expire and move to a "cancelled" status. I didn't have a chance to call yesterday to find out what my options were. I'm about to call now though...

Unfortunately, if an agent doesn't previously know that a particular handset is on backorder then they won't know until the RMA has been created and approved.

Also, a handset is usually only on backorder for about 3-5 business days or until they receive them from the manufacturer. Once instock your phone then ships. However, in our case fulfilment centers will not be receiving any 6682s from Nokia anytime soon for obvious reasons. So after 7days (I think) the order expires and auto cancels.

Its just a matter of calling back & being offered something comparable I would imagine.

Posted by: cingtony

My order was placed on the 19th and was showing cancelled on the 20th.

Posted by: ichiban658

I hope that by comparable phone they don't mean sending in a S66 or V551 haha (what I was offered before for my 6230). I would be very angry if they didn't tell me that they were going send a different phone than the 6682. I would much rather wait until they get the 6682. I'm using my 6620 as back up right now.

You could wait until they are re-released I would imagine. However, insurance claims do have expiration dates as well. A Lockline insurance claim is open 90 days from the day you initiated the claim. If you wait and the phone is still not available within those 90 days you would have to submit a new insurance claim. So you may be ok.

I called Lockline today and they said that my phone has been shipped out. (No tracking number available yet). I asked the representative to verify the contents of the package and she said it was a Nokia 6682. I guess I can't be too happy yet until I get the actual phone in my hands.

Well, I was about to call right as I was checking the status online. It appears that a new RMA has been created and approved. It has shipped and I should receive it tomorrow. I don't know what I'm getting and I'm not going to call and ask. I will just wait and see once I open the box :-)

I just got an email with a new rma number but its still not showing on the order status but i just got the email an hour ago.

those jerks are sending me the S710a. They told me they cannot cancel the order. i told them that i did not agree to the S710a as it does not allow me to install programs such as Profimail. Which i use for emails from work and various clients. They pretty much told me "tough luck" as they can only gaurantee me a phone that is comparable. S710a does not equal nokia 6620 by any means.

They advised me that when the order arrives then i can call back and speak with a manager but i will not be able to get the nk 6682 unless it's released within 60 days from OCT 12. will this happen? likely not... i want nokia i need series 60 minimum.

isn't there a class action suit against lockline and do i qualify?

Just rec'd my replacement handset. Needless to say, it is NOT a Nokia 6682. Instead, I rec'd a Sony Ericsson S710a. blah I'm disappointed but I will just sell it anyway. I mean, look at my lineup. I'm not hurting for a 6682

Posted by: ichiban658

Wow, talk about dissapointment. Here is my timeline of events.

10/17 Called Lockline, 6682 was offered, item backordered, going to be a while.
10/19 Received prepaid shipping label for phone to be sent back (weird huh).
10/20 Called to check status of 6682, still back ordered
10/21 Same as above
10/22 Called again, spoke to a manager emphasizing that I wanted the 6682 and if they could contact me if the device changes. (lol that never happened)
10/24 Called Lockline, was told phone is shipped. Upon asking what equipment would be sent, representative said: Nokia 6682 and that I should expect it by 10/27. I then ship out my phone.
10/27 (Today), I receive a SE S710A. I leave the contents in the box and call Lockline. I talk to the manager and she told me that she was sorry. I said that it was okay and that I was not blaming them. She then told me this:

+ They received a memo saying not to ship out the Nokia 6682 due to software problems.
+ Continue using my S710A and to call back periodically within 30 days to see if they have the 6682.
+ If they do receive the 6682 and are able to ship one out, I will be able to send back my S710A and receive the Nokia. Keep in mind this is strictly within 30 days.

I've had a positive experience with Lockline, they are nice people. I know that it's beyond their control and tell them that also, they always seem thankful that I am not chewing them out.

Let's just hope that the 6682 does come back out within 30 days... wait make that 29 since she said from the 26th of October. If not, I hope the W600i does not come out so soon so that if I do resort to selling my S710A, it can still hold onto its value of around 300.

:/

i thought they were doing OTA firmware updates for the 6682, or at least trying to. I know a member on the boards said that he hasnt been having any problems with his phone since then. i guess he found it in his pocket completely turned off and after powering it back on everything worked fine. HE sint lsoing his call logs any more and its not asking to copy contacts.

I posted about the Updated FW coming. I spoke with my Nokia rep about he phone and he said that next month-mid Nov. there should be a update. He said that it should be available via a website or they were going to try and do it OTA.<--I've never heard of a FW upgrade done OTA but ok. But they said look for it next month.
