FPC Bench is a great benchmark for mobile phones.
The goal of FPC Bench is to test the performance of a phone and compare it to others phones.

With modern phones, CPU performance became very important because games and application wants more power to run well.

Here a result database to compare your result with others.
http://www.dpsoftware.org/result.html

You can download FPC Bench from here
http://www.dpsoftware.org

FPC Bench run's on all Java devices.
If you want you can post your result here in this thread to help me enlarging database.

Thanks,
Davide

What the hell would be the point of a program like this?

Posted by: sblantipodi

compare performance between phones, this is important when running application.

Low performance, less application can run.

who the hell multitasks on their phone, and what phone OS anywhere in the world supports multitasking anyway?

....that said, nice proof of concept. I like the idea behind it.

but why talking about multitasking here?

Your on a call and the person ask you for a number, you look in your phonebook and tell him the number. That is simple multitasking. Your
using the GPS in the phone and it is giving you directions, that is
multitasking. I think it is a cool program. We want faster computers,
phones are no different.

Sure, after installed FPC Bench start it.
Now you can see many menu, most important one is Info Tool and START.

Info Tool informs you about the special features supported by your phone, START let you choose a CPU Benchmark.
16K, 32K, 64K, ..., 1Mb.
Greater is the value you choose and more accurate will be your results.
After you calulated your cpu test you can compare your phone's performance on our database.
On www.dpsoftware.org

here an example on what kink of info FPC Bench gives on a RAZR V3x
http://www.dpsoftware.org/result/motorola/v3x.html

If you have a K1, please post here your results and I'll update our database with your result.

Thanks.
