having a problem with ringo pro on my treo 650. I have been through 3 or 4 different treos and every one has had the following problem

once ringos installed and set to play a certain mp3 ringtone, most of the time when a call comes in the phone immediately soft resets.

after hours of messing with the phone i came to conclusion that it was in fact ringo causing this problem.....

anyone else have the same issues? What do you recommend? Whats a better program to use????

I had the same problem with Ringo Pro as well. It messed up my Treo whereas I had to get another Treo. I'm currently using Phone Technician and works well for me. I tried Lightwav Pro, mRing.

I hope you enjoy one of the other applications, so you can use your MP3s as ringtones.

It has been documented in forums as far back as May on the Palm forum that Ringo Pro is an issue with the Treo 650 resetting for many Treo 650 users. Yet, the problem hasn't been rectified as of yet. Maybe the playing of MP3s as ringtones will be implemented on a Treo right out of the box some day.

mRing here, works great with the ringtones, but makes my mp3 message alerts reset my phone?? So I have stuck with the stock "swoosh" message alert and I'm happy, but I'd still like to fix the alert so I can have Homer Simpson telling me I have mail.

I recently had the exact same problem, but I downloaded the beta of Ringo and returned the original phone because it was AFU. Now it plays real nice alongside VolumeCare and TreoGuard.

Regarding Mring, can you use .Wav files as voicemail and SMS alerts or just MP3s? This is an important feature for me because all of my quick alerts (Homer, Star Trek, etc.) are .Wavs.

Uh, forget it anyhow. I tried the demo and this program kept rebooting the phone everytime a VM notification played in either format.
