I am getting a new phone this Friday but I don't know which to get.

I was going to get the RAZR but someone told me it's ugly since it's all wide and stuff. And said it's like a freakin remote.

Maybe that's just one person's opinion? Should I pick it up or get some other phone? I am really looking for a good looking phone with good reception and a camera(any phone with a camera better than the V220's!).

I see too many people walking around with a V551, and it seems too ordinary to me. Just a cell phone, nothing special. I kinda want a nice lookin phone. Yeah I'm a fashion conscious(sp?) type buyer...

well the millions who have it dont seem to care, myself included. its a great phone great rf and what people dont understand is when something is that thin it needs to be wider to have room for the rest of the stuff. put it in your pocket and your ready to go, great phone. and you said you wanted a hot phone, whats hotter then the razr in the cell phone world? verizon wants it, t mobile wanted it and got it, and the rest to follow...
however there are many hot phones out there i dont want to sound like iam unaware of that but this is my opinion, hope this helps man...

well...the term "hot" depends on what are you looking for...I have a v600,v400,v551, razr (regular and black), s307,s710a, and some others...but if you want a phone with cool features, cool factor, elegant, sexy, etc. go for the s710a or wait a little bit more and probably cingular will introduce new phones for the holiday season, which start in november.

If he thiks that the Razr is too wide, then the treo is definately not for him.

I can't believe my friend still has a startac and still uses it with verizon. He won't let go of that thing.

RAZR is still the hottest phone. Now that so many people have it, why not wait for the SLVR that should be out in November. That's a HOT HOT phone.

If you really want a hot phone, you should get a CDMA phone. They get really hot when you talk on them for a few minutes!

comon people...razor = overratad, a v551 in a pretty case, a v400 with less bugs, and finally razr are like ford mustangs in texas, almost everyone has one or had one. A hot phone for me is the one that makes you "singular" (not "cingular"), something that will standout in the crowd, something that has functionality, value (something pricey, so that many can not afford)...for me a great phone would be the sony ercicsson s710a (eventhough is has been out for a long time now). i attend a university with 20,000+ full time students plus faculty and part-time students, and the razr is one of the most common phones you see. the s710a and the nokia with the megapixel camera are between the rarest you see out there; and note that college students are always "broke", but drive new cars, play a lot of video games, and have an addiction for electronics

The Nokia 1100 has to be the hottest phone ever. Check it out.

As for the RAZR.... It's starting to get played out like a Verizon camera phone. However, I have to say that I have not seen that many black ones, so if you get that one, you'll be slightly "singular." I think the reason the silver one is getting played out is because T-Mobile has it now, and I assume you can get the Cingular version very cheap (anywhere besides through Cingular themselves).

Well Verizon is getting it, unfortunately. It is an ugly color,two tone, greyish blue and silver on the inside. And to top it off, it does not use the motorola menu. I got a chance to play with one at a show last night. It is no way going to be as good as the GSM version.

S710 its hot great screen great camera, super loud ringtones, has the wowfactor, when peopel see it and see screen and swivel there like Wow, razor is nice but to common and just thin really in my opinion.S710 peopel are like what is it a mini psp when gaming or flip it around they think its a camera, then make a call and u wow them.

The Razor phone is too thin and it's nothing else but a toy.

If you want a real phone that's hot, get the V551. I own the V551 and it has excellent reception and all of the same exact features like the Razor.

Honestly, I would highly recommend staying away from the motorolla v-line (220, 300, 400, 551, etc.).

I've gone through 2 v400's this past year and my best friend who owns a 551 has been trying to ditch it for about a month now, because it's having the same issues my v400 has been having (earpiece volume dropping to the point of not being able to hear the other person, the screen randomly going blank, and the phone spontaneously restarting in the middle of phonecalls).

One thing to note is that these problems didn't show up until I'd had the phone for a few months and the same is true of my friend.

Seriously dude, just stay away from the v-line.

*edit* P.S. I'm looking to pick up a new phone as well. I think I'll wait a week and see what new phones cingular's going to pick up. I heard they were going to get the se w800 (the walkman phone) which is supposed to replace the s710a.
