Just registered and have been reading postings for hours and am still lost on how to set MP3s as ringtones for the VX9800..ive seen a link how to do it for the vx8100 and dont know if it is the same...

Ive got 1gb minisd card on which i want to tranfer files for ringtones because the verizon stinks as we all know. ive tried changing file ext. to mid or qcp but all it does is store them in the my sounds folder and i cannot set ringtones from there. How do i get them stored in the ringtones part under "my tunes and tones" . .

also anyone found a decent 2.5 stereo headset for this thing because ive a ton of music stored but cant listen to it in places where i do not have service(ie places i want to hear music like on the subway on my commute)i think this is due to the fact the my headset acts as a headjack as well so it needs service to pick up calls and screws everthing up, im current using the jabra set that verizon sells..

also think a software update is comin because the mp3 features(main reason i bought it) stink as well..you cant even search for a file name or browse through phone as music plays..

also where is the UBS port located?? i read that it has one but dont see a port for it

anyhow thank you please help me because i am losing it right now

There is no USB port on the camera, you buy a data cable, than converts the plug at the bottom (that you plug your charger into) into a USB cable.

I recommend buying from "iTrimming" on ebay. (the charger is the same as for the 6100/7000/8100)

I bought the data cable for like $12 with shipping (like $4 before shippping charge), and they sent me the data cable and also a car charger.

Quite a deal in my opinion.

Itrimming is getting alot of advertisement on HoFo we should charge him or at least get our shipping charges back. Hey but he threw in a free Antenna Booster!!!! Thank goodness now I get the exact same signal!!!
