Weird beeps when placing calls

Hi,

I have Treo 650 with Verizon. Sometimes, when I place a call to someone, there are 2 short beeps right before the phone connects. Does anybody know what these beeps mean?

I looked through the manual but didn't find anything.

Does it beep instead of a normal ring when your dial out? If so I believe it is part of the firmware that is on the phone. Mine isn't a verizon its a unlocked gsm but after I updated the firmware mine beeps from time to time instead of a normal ringing out like most phones do.
