Will it have EVDO. Probably not but link below claims it will with a software update. Out now with earlier vs software and no EVDO.

What i'm looking 4 is bluetooth dun / broadband speed 4 laptop/ipaq with phone service without deadspots in hilly regions (Nextel works much better in PDX hills than Verizon/sprint)

I seriously doubt that the iDen nextel 7100i will get EVDO as that is for CDMA networks only as far as I know

I could be wrong, I have been in teh past.

The 7100i already has the OS upgrade to v4.1, with that you are able to sync ONLY thru desktop manger with BT. Just get a dongle for your comp or unless it has BT in it already. But the device apparently is WiDen capable, as far as it being tested I dont know and I do not know where WiDen has been released.

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 7520.|: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry7100i/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/103)

Pink--I bought a bt dongle, but haven't had any luck at all with syncing.... I have since found info that points to BES being a requirement to bt sync, but I don't quite understand that with the current wireless sync capability....

I'm going to keep looking for info on this topic though....

On the EVDO topic, not unless there are huge changes coming for Sprint Nextel. The 7100i is iDen, not CDMA. EVDO is on the CDMA network.

Plus, I dont think its possible for a software upgrade to bring a hardware level change (unless it already has EVDO hardware, which I doubt).

First off, that article says the 7100t will have EVDO, not the 7100i.

First off, EVDO is for CDMA networks, of which neither the 7100i or 7100t operate on. Not a very good review if you ask me.
