I have this phone and I am exchanging it today due to buggy software. White screen, freezing up, flakey signal and battery, anyone else experiecing these problems??????????????

I know! My 3595 was awesome, but my dad lost his and took mine, then he got mine chopped up in a combine....Then I got a siemens c61. The battery was terrible so i got an lg c1300, I got tired of that, then one day I dropped it in my pool. Still works still have it dont want it dont like it. So then I got a sony ericsson z500a, that was a flop. Then I got my RAZR, then another one, then another one... geesh. Then I got my w600i, and well, my second one is coming on wednesday!

IS THERE A PHONE THAT WILL NOT MESS UP ON ME?!?!?!

Well, 6010, but since you use things like razrs or w600i's, you might want something more techy, or whatever.

I'm waiting for my Sony Ericsson w600i from Cingular to be delivered. I hope it already has the latest updates/firmware, thus saving me having to do it...

LOL, am glad someone is keeping up with me, besides my wife!?! I had one about 3 - 4 months ago. The Nokia 6682 keeps doing stupid things, locking up, turning off even though the battery is fully charged. And to be honest I'm not using the functions as much as I wanted too, which tells me, am bored of it...

In addition to that, I want to try, and keep for that matter a swivel or flip mobile, but with decent functions, i.e. the w600i. Candy bar mobiles are now getting irritating, to me that is...

Further more, am sure there is something wrong with me, when it comes to mobiles...

does anyone know how or if the w600i can be used as a modem for my laptop, and if so how will i be build, i use to have nextel and it would just go through my internet plan, i have unlimited media net and from what i can tell its really the only internet plan for my phone, the other 2 out there are for the blackberry and the palms, if anyone could help me or point me in the right direction id appreciate it, thank you

Well I searched and hardly came up with anything and this thread is already 81 pages so I'm gonna ask my question about my phone here. When you click the middle button twice it will open up media net or whatever and I get charged. I tried changing the settings for the browswer so it wont even connect but it still does. I want it disable because sometimes if its in my pocket it will get unlocked and next thing I know I'm 4 pages deep into world news and getting charged. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure about 'disabling' that button. But, if you lock it, of have the automatic lock feature on, I really can't see it unlocking itself. Even if you used the 'slide' button on the left side of the phone. Really, how is it possible for it to unlock itself? It's a serious question, since am concerened...

Well I wear khaki's just about 6 days a week so I always keep my phone in my pocket. It always seems that somehow I will bump it or it will catch and unlock itself with the "slider". I was finally able to just delete the profile so when it trys to connect it just errors out.

call cingular ask them to disable all internet (assuming you dont use the internet at all) it may take a couple of calls until its really disabled.

i'v asked this before and did not recieve a answer.

i cant seem to find the option on w600i with cingular to turn on sms delivery notifications! its there by the mms but not by sms any ideas?

To be honest I've tried this feature in the past, and it never seems to work with Cingular. Now, while in London using Voda-Phone, T-Mobile, or O2, it seems to work with them. I wonder if Cingular just does not support that feature, despite it being an option on the mobile....

I dropped my phone from about 2 feet high last week, and the bluetooth headset range is now about 2 feet. It used to be clear up to 20 feet before. Anyone else experienced this?

Ended up getting it replaced. How do I get the saved messages to either SIM card or a PC? I got some text messages to the SIM from the "Inbox", but not from "saved messages" box. Also, I can't transfer messages from the SIM to the new phone.

Anyone?

okay, this has been bugging me for a while. my phone no longer displays the little "E" in the top left corner with the signal strength, so i'm assuming that it's not picking up EDGE coverage anymore, which is rather perplexing since it always used to when i first got the phone. i have landed on top of the phone once diving for a volleyball and dropped it a couple times. i think it's held up well, but since then i haven't been getting the "E", although it has returned for brief periods only to disappear again. it's not possible to knock out EDGE reception like this is it?

There is an option to have Edge/GPRS connected all the time or just when needed. Check in the data section of the manual for the option if you want it showing all the time.

It shows up when you access the Internet right?

Also...I don't know if you guys are aware...but I just got off the phone with the warranty exchange people...apparently they are giving out Samsung D807 (i think thats the number) to replace your broken w600i...she said she didn't know if they would ever have w600's back to swap with...
All I know is that I better have a busted battery and not a busted w600i...I don't particularly care for a Samsung...

^wow, that sucks. this is my first SE phone and i'd prefer to keep it.

one way i've found to get edge back is to go into the data comm.>preferred service and then change it to gsm only, then change it back to edge and gsm. edge service returns, but then when i turn the phone off and back on again, it loses edge even though it's set back to edge and gsm mode again. totally weird.

EDIT: and my internet still does not connect, even when i get the little "E" back...

Hey I have a Sony Ericsson W600i and I was planning to buy some new face plates for it. In order to install the ones I want I have to remove the screen lens. Does anyone know how I would go about doing that?
