Yep the same old question over and over.

However,

the reason why I'm bringing it up now is b/c I saw some ebayer claiming he was selling the FULLY UNLOCKED JPN903 (NOT THE TEST MODE). So is the 100% unlocking method out now?

So whats your take on this? Is it just flashing the JPN 903 firmware with the HK sx833? Or did they actually finally come up with a way to FULLY unlock the JPN 903?

It's hard to say.. the pics of the phone's screen look like the same pics that the seller has used in the past. It's possible that it's not the fully unlocked JPN firmware, but instead it could just be the JPN phone flashed to SX833 firmware.

Wish I could check out ima-mobile for any new news, if this is truely a full unlock for Japan firmware. Can anyone confirm?

It's hard to prove anything, especially from ebay.

i saw this ebay ad this morning, whats interesting is the distortion on the bottom of the screen, the wall paper normally doesn't look like this.

now only if they would release soemthing to get the test-mode event lights working.....

So what about the mp3 restrictions? ringtones? So if its fully unlocked I assume every single bug will be fixed.

On a side note. Does the sharp 903 JPN version support T9 for txtmsging?

The MP3 restrictions were not a problem of the beta unlock.. that's just how the Japanese firmware is. AAC only. And no.. no T9, unfortunately.

I'd love the event lights working too.. other than that, I've gotten so used to the SMALL issues with this phone (which I never notice anymore) that I'm not so sure I'd go through the trouble of getting it re-flashed.

I'm eagerly awaiting the SX833 flashing for the 903SH. The sole reason I'm not using my 903SH is because of the lack of T9 and the miserable contact list sorting. Hopefully soon!

people,. the unlocking will ONLY ADDRESS THE SIMcard.. they aren';t going to rewrite the firmware to allow mp3's etc etc. those will only work if the firmware allows it to. the only thing being unlocked is the ability to use non-native simcards.

the contact list is totally doable.. just gotta change up the sort order for "reading" and thats it.
aac ringers are fine with me, sound like hifi, and the hirigana -> Kanji predictive entry i use a BIT more than just regular text anyways...

anyone know how to use aac files as ringtones, as i got them to play on the phone, however it doesn't give me the option to use them as ringtones, anyone know why that is? does the aac file have to be a certain size or length? anyone know, please help!! thanks in advance

timsta is using the full unlock, he could play mp3s on his jap 903. Full unlock is available now...all i need now is the phone

Flashing the firmware of 903 to sx833 is just saying the HK version now has 3 color to choose from.

I am more interested with the JPN 903 fully unlocked with mainly the power button issue fixed and the msg/missed call indicator light working. Don't really care much about the master resset/other bugs.

nope, he said he has the full jap unlock. Setools has it. Also theres alot of versions out there now. I hope they dont have some weird bugs. So far timstas doesnt have any bugs. Finally a Jap unlock without bugs, enable mp3s, and THEMES! god i want it now.

I really hope that JPN firmwire can be full unlock with no mp3 restriction as well...sx833 is okay, but just the theme makes it alittle "NOT AS GOOD".. =(

timsta has testmode unlock. i know because i know.

he used AAC music files and put them into the memory stick.

however, timsta will have full unlock in a few days.

not sx833, only testmode. at setool board, there is some talk of messing with the IMEI to cross-flash.. but this is still VERY beta.

Ok so in conclusion timsta doesn't have a fully unlocked 903 yet but we can anticipate that he'll provide one shortly? How long, any ETAs? Hopefully soon
