I just got word my GD87 was shipped today with overnight shipping, and I will recieve it tomorrow!! I cant wait!! In the mean time, are there any WAP sites (or any web sites) that have ringtones and backgrounds for the GD87? Anything would be helpful!! I'll be sure to post a good review with pictures within 2 days of me having the phone.

Also, does anyone know where I can find accessories for a GD87/88? (Battery, Leather Case, Car Charger etc.)?

welcome to the family~~

for background pictures visit nicobox's GD87 site, he has the most complete backgrounds that's available for the 87, and he's doing a good job of updating it almost everyday~~ let's give him some applauses~~~ clap clap clap...

as for ringtones.. just search online for the midi files, then upload them to your phone, boom.

oh, you will need IrDA to transfer all the stuff to your phone, i am using a USB datacable with a excellent software to do all the transfer for me, so i haven't tried using IrDA...

What software are you using and what data cable? The one for the Allure? I've heard that the Allure's data cable and car charger work with the GD87...is that true? I dont have IrDA on my computer, so I dont know if thats going to work. I dont know how im going to get ringtones and graphics onto and off the phone.

About ringtones, can you just upload MIDI's right onto the phone, or do you have to convert them into some other format?

You said to visit nicobox's GD87 site, whats the address so I can see it.

Any other info will be helpful!!

didn't notice that you have a question about the datacable too.. i am sorry.
ok, the one that i am using is a USB data cable made by taiwanese company, www.mobileaction.com.tw, they sell all kinds of USB data cables or even IrDA adapters for mobile phone... the one i got is their MA-8310P, that's specially for GD87/88.
however, you can't buy it through them, they will forward you to one of their distrubutors in the united States.
the Software is called handset manager. just visit their site and browse a little.
and it is true that Pana 310's cable, charger will fit for your 87, but i just prefer USB port...
now i am not sure if you can download the handset manager
program and use the COM port data cable.. can anyone verify that?
please PM me if you want to know where i got the data kit, i don't want people to think that i am promoting for them

No the USB software will not work with anything but Their datacable. However Niko has software that works with a regular datacable.
I am using the Allure Datacable with Niko's software, no problem. Same stuff as the USB version. I am also using my Allure quick charger (700mA), carcharger and USB charger. I saw on Ebay today a Dutch Action for USB chargers for the GD87, pretty cheap too $10.00. Cheaper than mine anyway but I have had it a while. It is fantastic to have on the road when traveling!

I traded my S100 plus some cash for the GD87. I was really lucky I found someone to do that with.... Thanks again Philip!

Where can i find the Niko software? I just got the phone and i'm in love!!! I love it!! I just have so may questions since the manual is isn't in English. Ill post my questions after work....maybe you GD87 users can help me out!! THANKS!!
