Unlocked SMT5600 on Rogers

So far I like the functionality that this phone provides as I look forward to the Motorola Q.

Anyway, here's my one and only issue so far. I ignored a call yesterday, and it of course went to my voicemail. No issues there. However, after listening and deleting the vocie mail message that was left, the indicator on the phone won't go away. Every time I re-start the phone, the indicator comes back, and the right "control" button is labeled as "Voice Mail" whihc I go into again, and there's nothing to removed.

Any thoughts, suggestions, or hints would be greatly appreciated.

Nevermind. I had someone call and leave another voicemail. After holding the "1" key down to call the service and removing the message, the indicator is now gone. Strange.

Still, any comments, explanations would be greatly appreciated.

I'm assuming this is a Cingular 5600? You could always try flashing to a stock Rogers Rom?

Yes, it would be a stock Cingular Rom. Do you see any benefits to flashing it with a Rogers one?

I'll have to do a little research to see how to actually do this, in the meantime.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I've never used the Cingular rom so I couldn't tell you for sure, unfortunately. There's a thread in the Rogers forum that explains pretty well how to backup/flash the rom, and I've got a backup of my rogers rom for download in there too.

Hello Corporate,

I have not been able to find the thread that has your Rogers backup ROM. Could you please provide a link to the thread or the actual backup rom. I am desperately looking to get a Roger's AMT 5600 ROM!

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if the Rogers ROM is just the AT&T ROM?

Not exactly. AT&T in the US is a compatible image as if T-Mobile USA but Rogers has their own actual rom. Not sure what the application differences are if any. You can flash either of those roms and it will work... so will Cingular.
