Got Ringtones on OS 4.02.49 to Save - Might work for 4.1??

Figured out how to load ringtones on this version of the OS and maybe on 4.1...not sure on 4.1 don't have it yet but you could try this...

Noticed (and someone else confirmed in another thread) that there are 2 different versions on my browser.....the new one that happened to appear when I updated to 4.02.49 is the one you want to launch and then go to the ringtone site and then download and get the "Save" command in the menu...

The trick is that the new one has "Blackberry Bookmarks" as a default folder and "Web Links" as the other....I launched this from the home screen under browser icon NOT from a URL in an email....

Once you launch this browser and download the ringtones into the player and click the scroll wheel the SAVE command is there at the top just like before....

Not sure how this might work under OS 4.1 but see if this works....it works for sure on my 7100v running 4.02.49 with T-Mobile....

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 7520.|: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry7100i/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/103)

Using the browser to download ringtones has worked for quite some time, at least with Nextel's bb's. I have done this using several previous software versions, as well as 4.1 on my current bb7100....

I agree this is how I have downloaded the ringtones in the past on many versions of the OS...however with the latest TMO handheld OS it added another browser session seperate from the default and people were trying to use other browser app to access the internet (which still works) it would load the ringtones but no SAVE command was present....launching the other browser from the home page as opposed to a link in an email gets the SAVE command to appear...
