A problem setting mp3s as ringtones.

So I have all the software needed and a BT connection. However, when I try to load the mp3s onto the phone as it's layed out on josh7143's site, it will only load 3 out of the 10 i'm trying to load into the ringtone folder, and I can't find any of the other songs anywhere on the phone, but the show up as being there on Bitpim.

Any suggestions.

Oh and I just bought the phone a few days ago, so its got the V 04 update and all that good stuff.

Maybe your problem has something to do with the fact that there is only about 2mb of internal phone memory allocated for ringtones...

If you aren't doing it the miniSD-card way, you should be.

It's more than 2mb but it's not enough for 10 songs. You'll have to swap 'em out when you wanna change.

You might also try converting the mp3s to a lower bitrate for smaller a filesize the way folks had to do in the days of 32-64K max portable players.

check and make sure the filenames are not to long and with out symbols

I bought a miniSD card and tried it that route and now it works perfectly!!

Thanks for the help guys. Even found a program to crop mp3's down into specific parts of the songs to use as ringtones, too.

Feel free to close this thread now mods.

I got one also. Works great.
So what software did you find to "crop mp3's down into specific parts of the songs to use as ringtones"?

it's called Mp3 TrackMaker v. 1.5 found it at download.com.

I'm sure there are others that might be more advanced than this, but it was free and the first one that I ran across. Very simplistic in design, but it does the job for me just fine.
