** Since my thread was locked instead of moved **

Can anyone tell me if the above mentioned would work?

I am looking at getting a Dell Axim x50v, I already have a black razr which I am looking at the unlimited pda connect.

My question is, exactly how do I connect the pda to the phone? I know it has bluetooth and wifi, and the phone has bluetooth. But does anyone have a howto on exactly how to do it?

Thanks!
Mike

Its doable, though you dont really need the pda plan, it will work fine with media works.

I have an x50 and followed steps at found at aximsite.com

Maybe try the methods that were used to tether a 551 and that might work.

I have a razr now with my dell axim x51v and it so simple all you need to get is cingular's $19.99 Unlimited Media Net and connect the devices together via bluetooth... then when you setup the phone as a modem via bluetooth just use the phone number *99# with no username or password... but i would definatly consider getting a phone with edge because i do notice a difference when i use my razr then when i use the 551... the 551 is alot faster because it has edge...let me know because i use it now all the time

I will just be using it for imap email, not much else. I have a evdo pcmcia card for my laptop which I use for most other things. However, there are apps for ssh (putty?) correct? So in a bind I can ssh to a box?

Thanks,
-Mike

Sigh - looks like the moderators missed sensitivity training.......

Does it really damage anyone that much if they forget and post in the Cingular forum? I mean the only one it might hurt is the OP as their post will tend to get burried faster and overlooked. Nothing to get all worked up about.

I've identified dozens of posts in the 'Cingular' forum that need to be moved if there is a rule that says you HAVE to post phone questions in the phone forum. I had originally though the creation of a separate phone forum was to benefit people who had phone questions, not so that people could have their posts moved and to make smart *** comments from the mods.

At least you did offer help instead of the typical bobolito comment 'wrong form'. As a favor to the posters who micht post in teh wrong forum, could you guys move the original and leave a redirect? Takes the same amout of effort and does not make you guys look like jerks.

I didn't mean it in a bad way. I was going to post in my last thread to please move it here so I didn't have to double post. Now as it stands, I'm just cluttering things up, and when people searching for the same issue I have will get both results. One which has just been locked, with no info.

I too, run a large forum with over 40,000 members so I know how it is moving threads all over. But whatever, thanks everyone for their help. Still trying to make a decision as to which pda to purchase.

If you wish to remain a member of this forum, please follow the rules. Plain and simple! Questioning a moderator's actions is not helping you follow the rules because it is an off-topic post. If you have a problem with a moderator's decision, send it via PM.
