Beat up T616 to New T637 question...

Okay... I'm going to attempt this. I'm ordering the cnn.cn white T630 "OEM" housing (I put the OEM in quotes because I really don't think it's "original") and from the limited description, it sounds like everything you need is included. (I know I need the a Torx 6 screwdriver and I'm going to go ahead and splurge on the $1.50 for the cell phone opener tool...) Again, It *sounds* like everything is included. Am I wrong?

What would anyone who has done this before recommend I buy in addition to the housing kit?

well, I did not look at the housing, but iirc the keypad is different from the T616 to the T637 - so the keypad may not fit properly if a new one is not included.

You do know that you cannot use T637 firmware with the T616 "guts" right? So you are not planning on changing the screen?

The new housing kit comes with a T637 keypad. I was thinking more along the lines of any additional rubber gaskets or whatnot I'd need to make the housing transformation easy and complete. You know, stuff you don't think of until you get the phone open and the project started.

Yes, you are correct. I'm not planning on trying to actually make my trusty old T616 into a T637. I was under the impression that the T616's "guts" would fit into the nicer T637 *housing* without any modifications. If it's not worth the effort to cram everything in there, I'll just buy their T616 replacement housing kit.

I just received my T637 housing from CNN and the rubber gasket was not included, I just received an email back from Dennis and it sound like he'll be shipping one out free of charge. When I received my w800i housing from them, a small T6 screwdriver was included and I did not pay extra for it.

As for the T637 housing, apart from the missing foam inlay, everything came fine and ready to go. I suspect that they forgot to throw the foam seal in with my order though, as I have heard that it is indeed included with purchase.
