Im looking into getting a SE p910 or p900.. Which one would work in Southern California Cingular network. I know there are SE p910(i or b) thats out in the market. Just want to make sure it works here before i actually pay for one.

Yea, the P910a (850/1800/1900) is the way to go if your using mainly in the US. I've been using one for almost a year now and I love it. It is a great phone. However, I would wait for the P990 at this point which should be out in March '06.

They haven't mentioned a 850 version yet, but from what I have heard there will be a US version. When the P910 launched they never talked about a US version either, but as we know it came out shortly thereafter.

In Southern California you can get away with a P900 or 910i. However if you travel throughout the US extensively, I would get the p910a.

Can someone please tell me what site is a good place to buy extra batteries for the P910? Im interested in picking up 2-3 extra P910 batteries, would prefer a US site for faster shipping. Thanks

Try www.expansys-usa.com I think it's the BST-15, correct?

I am a satisfied Sprint customer (as long as I dont have to talk to them) off contract. I really love the SE P910 phone, which many consider the best pure phone/pda hybrid around.

I love the phone so much, I was going to swallow my intense dislike for Cingular and switch my service to them just so I could use this phone.

While poking around Ebay, I noticed a review from a customer in my area who stated the phones were horrible to use with Cingular service. Now I don't know if they were using the 'a' or 'i' model of the 910, which might make a difference, but I am curious if anyone else on this board has used one of these with Cingular, mainly in South Florida and noticed any service issues.

Also, if I 'buy' a free phone just to start my service and then move the SIM card into the P910a, would I have any technical problems using voice and data services, considering the P910 is both a discontinued model from SE and was never offered by Cingular for use on their GSM network. I am new to GSM, so I don't know if Cingular's system would notice the SIM card swap and stop service.

So far my p910i been working great. Then again like mentioned above, I havent stepped out of California yet. Cingular will not notice that you've changed handsets. That the advantage in using gsm phone. The swapable SIM allows you to change phones as you please. So dont worry at all about that issue.

I am also a happy owner of the P910a and I can highly recommend it. Bought mine online at Tiger Direct at the beginning of the year. While I don't live in California, I can honestly say I get fantastic reception in areas I couldn't with my cheap phones. Hope you are just as satisfied with the phone. Still a much cheaper alternative to the new P990 handset.
