I am taking down this howardforums account and creating a new one. There are too many video's that were encoded in aac format which other phones can't read. Too many video's made for a v635 (which literally choked the life out of an e398/rokr). With that being said, I'm going to create a new one especially for e398/rokr/v635 users!

for instance (from my newly acquired pre-Christmas-opening-celebration DVDs).
i just ripped ELF, Chicken Little, Fantastic Four and The Madagascar Penguins in A Christmas Caper.

after dvdripping, size =
721.3MB Fantastic_Four.avi
716.6MB Chicken_Little.avi
102.1MB The_Madagascar_Penguins_in_a_Christmas_Caper.avi

after converting to smartphone specs (220x176) =
152.9MB Fantastic_Four_Smartphone.avi
098.0MB Chicken_Little_Smartphone.avi
014.5MB The_Madagascar_Penguins_in_a_Christmas_Caper_Smart phone.avi

and just to test things out, i converted the 'The_Madagascar_Penguins_in_a_Christmas_Caper_Smar tphone.avi' to 3gp format, and it is a bit bigger.
@
020.6MB The_Madagascar_Penguins_in_a_Christmas_Caper_Smart phone.3gp


i use DVD Decrypter to rip my DVDs.
PocketDivXEncoder to encode/convert to SmartPhone size.
and TCPMP to view them on my phone.

ive got a miniSD 512MB card right now with

Chicken_Little_Smartphone.avi (95.6MB)
ELF_Smartphone.avi (142MB)
Fantastic_Four_Smartphone.avi (149MB)
Pixar-Robots.3gp (49.2MB)
The_Madagascar_Penguins_in_a_Christmas_Caper_Smart phone.avi (14.1MB)

and ive still got about 27-28MB left on my card.

I can somewhat get it to look good by using higher bit rate but when I do that 2 minute video clip is about 7MB and it does not play smoothly on the RAZR V3. It looks like RAZR can't handle that much data.

Can I send you a video and see if you can convert it to 3GP? Do you have GMail account?

I used the Motorola Phone Tool to convert it now and it came out good but for some reason it reduce the size of the video so it doesn't fill my RAZR screen. I didn't see any setting that indicated the size to convert so program must make that determination automatically.
