Hey guys, I just got my 903sh from Japan.. just a quick question, when i charge the battery for the first time, Do I need to charge it for 24 hrs?

I didn't have to I had a full charge and it has lasted 2 - 3 days of picture taking, video watching, game playing etc!

I will probably plug it into the charger when it gets completely drained

When you first charge the battery,just give it a good 8 hours' charge. The will do fine.

so what about recharging it when its not fully discharged? (after the first few times of charging) Is it going to hurt the battery? I am buying a 903 and I heard the battery life sucks (it only lasts for 1-1.5 days)

IMO the only reason the 903SH battery sucks is because the screen is so da** big :P which is a good thing, of course..

Plus its also because with the 903 its hard not to use the camera and multimedia features.

If not the phone would probably last as long as any other phone.

how does the 903 battery suck?

its awesome. lasts me about a week between charges (20 mins talk per day).

its better than the batteries from the phones you have listed as previous phones.

hmm my phone can go 2 days ><" I think it's because I play the camera too much. hahah each day took like 15 pics ? hahahha oh well it's so tempting when u see something nice u use it heheh

You get a week out of one charge??? Do you use the phone for anything other than 20 mins of voice calls?

Because I recharge mine every night. If you so much as use any function other than voice calls (games, music, WAP, whatever) the battery just drains and drains

Same here. I have no idea how you get your battery to last more then a day.

I cant stop using it, so much that the battery is gone by the end of the day, sometimes even a little earlier, so I cant listen to mp3s anymore

And it does suck, Its a 900 mAh battery for goodness sakes.. I wish there were bigger (apperantly there is a 1200 mAh one, but no ones confirmed it yet)

There's no official extended capacity battery. I'm sure there are third party manufacturers who make bigger batteries for the 903, but I wouldn't touch one with a stick.

Why not get a second battery from Vodafone? They are cheap - and you can have it as a backup... I have second batteries for notebook, PDA and phone and keep them in my briefcase so I don't run out while on a long day or two ... I wish the desktop charger would let you charge the second one without putting it in the phone, but that is Sharp for ya...

Every single time you drain your battery you are decreasing the full charge capability of the battery, so rotating batteries helps here as well...
