Hello!

I bought a Kyocera 7135 phone on e-bay that was with Verizon , it is unlocked and The guys at bell managed to activate it on the Bell Canada wireless network! The phone works just fine ! BUT

It seems that it's allways in ROAMNIG ( which could be very bad for me.. $$$) and second the Web Browser does not seem to work!

Does any1 know information that could help me change something on the phone so it would not be roaming anymore?? and how to set the network settings to work with bell??

Please help me! :P

The phone says roaming because the PRL points to your home network being Verizon. The phone needs to be flashed with a Bell PRL.

The only time you'll have issues is when 2 or more CDMA networks can be accessed at the same time. Since the phone doesn't know which is your home network you could theoretically get charged roaming by the non Bell carrier.

I have the PRL and flashing software, but I wouldn't suggest doing this yourself as you could potenially toast the phone.

This is better left to a professional. Ask the Bell store who got the phone working who their Kyocera service centre is. They may be able to get the phone flashed for you.

As far as the Internet goes, firstly you must be authorized by Bell to access the internet (ie you need to subscribe to a data package). Then you need to set the phone up with Bell's 1X protocol (again you'll probably need Bell or Kyocera's help to do this).

Good luck.

zenhowie,

I have a Hitachi G1000 that I want to try and get up and running on the Bell network. I would be very interested in the Bell PRL and flashing software. I'm no where near being a professional but I'm a fast learner. Any chance of getting the list and software from you along with a quick tutorial?

Are you aware of any "professionals" in the Montreal area that might be able to have a look?

Thanks

Firstly, you need the Hitachi flashing software that is made for the G1000. That might prove fairly difficult to acquire.

This is the first I have heard of this phone; I wonder who makes it for Hitachi? Far as I know that don't have a cellular division... oh well back to the subject at hand.

The PRL is not a problem it can be found all over the net.

The other issue(s) are whether the phone can be activated on the Bell network and will it work once activated?

If you get it to work let me know as I'm a big fan of Hitachi products.

Google around and find a 7135 Bell software image. Then use KWPST to flash that bugger

I have a Kyocera Smartphone 7135 working great on Verizon, but I want to use it on the Cricket Network. They are both CDMA, but thats all I know about that . Can it be done? Where would one start?

It's possible to get the phone from one network to another, in fact it's pretty easy.

Update your programming settings to reflect the new subscriber area (ie. take the phone to cricket and have them put in their settings) and update the PRL for the new carrier.

I run a VZW 7135 and a preprod KX5 Bluetooth on the bell network without any issues.
