What Are Access Points?

I just purchased an unlimited data plan, but curious on what access points are. I see MEdia Net, Multimeda, Home, and Roam...Pretty sure i'm supposed to use MEdia Net, but what are the difference between them? Thanks!

media net you use to surf the web and multimedia to send messages it use its owns server home and roam are pretty much a nokia thing

I think the access point is wireless data-speak for what you'd call a proxy server on the internet. I could be wrong, though.

We all know what access points are, but the term is not usually used with phones. If you have any more info?
