ok so theres an assitant Mgr open in my area so i decide to apply (dont ask me why)

first a little background... im in an all former blue mareket, hawaii, statred in 8/2000 i left for 6 months right before transition came back jan 2005.

so i submit my resume online and didnt hear anythign for a few days no worries, the store i applied for is a big one and quite frankly im not expecting to get the spot but just for the sake of trying right.

so im in a training class and just my luck the manager of the store im applying for is in my class, matter of fact he tells me oh i just got your resume. im all happy yeah i get to interview and just get that experiance, he then proceeds to tell me that sorry but you havent been in your postion for 12 months so i cant even interview.

ok thats cool. so after class im on my way home and im thinking then i realize that a friend of mine fellow employee, did almost the same thing, he worked for us for 4+ year left for 8 months and came back and he was promoted in his 10th month to anotehr store as thier assistant manager.

WTF we have the same amout of experiance both regarded well by our managers and he got the promotion and i CANT EVEN BE CONSIDERED?

now is it just me or is that not right?

oh and for the P&P guys i have no SAM steps or in blue we called them PIP's so thats not a reason for me not to even be considered

Did you tell that manager how long you had originally been with at&t and how long your time off was?

I just had a friend get promoted to asm from sales rep and he's been with the company less than 12 months.

did you buddy get his promom while youwere still blue. It may be a Orange policy that he can't interview you w/o an year of service.

Either way you're almost at the year suck it up make a ton of money for Xmas then refocus on the promotion after the holidays.

No, he just got the promotion two days ago.

I would have got it had I stayed but it wouldn't be worth it. I compared my pay to my assistant manager at the time and it was about $1000 more a year (not figuring some of the bonuses). Instead I put a good word in for him and his work ethics did the rest.

--edited--This comment was obviously a flame bait, was completley irrevelant to the topic, and was only to solicit a negetive response from other members, and it will not be tolerated. Please take this break to learn how to avoid insulting others for not doing something that you youself cannot seem to do correctly.

Since when did you work for Cingular? Why are you even in this forum? Wow you have friends in the company. That doesn't make you teh ****.

^ oh, gee, I'm sorry. I didnt know that is was a mandatory requirement to work for Cingular to read or post in this section of the forum.

I sure hope that you'll forgive me.

oh, and by the way. you are correct, I dont work for Cingular nor would I ever work for Cingular.

my local blue store's manager (who happens to be one of my very good friends) has offered me a job several times but I have always told him no thanks.

there's no way in hell I would ever work for a company that treats their front line employees like dirt the way Cingular does. and thats not nothing to say about the big hit I would take in income as well. no way, not in this lifetime.

Well, the forum does read "Agents and Employees".

Doesn't bother me any, but I can see how interjecting in such a scenario could piss some people off. Hell, technically, I shouldn't post in here anymore

Not to be an ***, but if you're going to ask someone else to proofread their posts for spelling and grammar errors, it would be wise to make sure your post doesn't have any such mistakes.

^ lol - actually you're right. but then again, I'm not the one who's applying for a management position so my (apparent lack of) grammEr skills isnt the issue here.

Personally I think it's pretty dumb of someone to tell someone else to do something when he doesn't do it himself, but that's just my opinion. Punctuation and such are also part of one's "grammer skills," no? At least you got "you're" right. =)

well since the is an informal fourm i didnt realize that i had to have my "speel" and grammar check on.

my god not only are you not an employee but the only thing you came to do was bust on me for poor grammar???

people like this are just so depressing all you can do is spout negitivity. and try to belittle and insult other people to make yourself feel smarter. well if you need to feel better about yourself go read all my other post im sure they have many speeling erros just so you cna feel better about yourself

horayy for you

tripy-regardless of the situation, name calling is not tolerated, this is a warning.
