nope..... BT is for calling only

Posted by: extreme_snoopy

that is not true because i read somewhere online that someone has done it already and if BT is for calling only then why do they make bluetooth headphones??

...Wrong version of the bluetooth stack.

Stereo audio through headphones (or music audio for that matter) is only supported by BT 2.1 or 2.2

Bluetooth stack on Audiovox is 1.1 or 1.2 I think.

...Is not supported, will never be supported, and no way to do it. (It is a hardware capability, as much as firmware). No way to modify the 6600, as such.

And no, WM 5.0 does not support it on its own either...you MUST have the updated bluetooth stack and hardware.

Sorry,
-M.

I just got a 6600 and can not get any bluetooth device to partner with it. I tried the Motorola speaker, it would not work. I tried a few different ear pieces and they wouldn't work. I also took the phone to Verizon tech staff and they couldn't get it to work. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!! what did you do to be able to use the speaker.

Many people are using this device to listen to stereo audio over a BT device.
You need to install the A2DP Bluetooth upgrade/stack.
You can find it here; scroll down to the Broadcomm Patch. Install and then enjoy the different BT profiles available. One of them will by HighQuality Audio.

Try searching for Bluetunes over at www.modaco.com

I believe it does what you want.

After installing it did you:
Install the Broadcom Patch last?[very important ]
Soft reset?
Make sure you had the additional profiles including "High Quality Audio Setup" and follow the steps to setup?
Pair the device (if required during setup)?
Follow all mfgr instructions (I know, sounds stupid but they sometimes hide little things in there)?

Sorry to ask these questions, but sometimes you just have to check again. It sometimes also takes a few soft-resets before it works right (I've noticed that with a few of the BT stacks. I'm using 3900B and like it very much.)

Also, I don't think it makes a difference, but are you using WMP9 or 10? I've noticed that 10 is much more stable and able to work with different kinds of audio.

i just got me a vx6600 and really want to buy the Bluetake BT450rx, but obviously not if the a2dp wont work with the 6600. can anyone that has a vx6600 or ppc 6600 confirm that they are able to enable a2dp on their phone like these guys are saying? im holding on to a glimmer of hope here...

It works great on the 6600 - I just wish it worked as well on the 6700! - sheureka

I previously had a PPC-6600 through Sprint and I was able to set up the Motorola HT850 stereo bluetooth headset and listen to music, and it sounded great. It is possible and it does work.

I now have a 6700, which oddly enough still uses the 1.2 stack (nice job Sprint/UT) and I was unable to get it to work.

This is where the confusion starts. I never updated my 6600 with a bluetooth stack, yet for some reason it functioned with the headset (don't ask me why, I'm pretty knowledgeable, and to this day I'm still lost.) If anyone has an explination for this (which I highly doubt) I would love to hear it.

Either way, the 6600 can be used with the ADP2 profile, with the right update (or some wierd occurance.)

I have th PPC-6600. I am using the 3900B bluetooth stack as well. I have a Plantronics Discovery 640 and installed the Broadcomm patch last. When I pick 'High quality audio' profile it can't find my headset. Any ideas.
