Here's the problem...

I have a friend that has a 8890 with a possible dead screen. It doesn't display anything except all black dots.

I was wondering if there's a way to fix it or does he have to buy a new screen and replace it?

Also, if it needs to be replaced... how hard is it? and soldering involved?
