Problems with data cable/software

Ok I'm obviously not doing something right!
I have a Sanyo 5150, and just got the wireless web connection kit with the data cable. I'm just trying to get some music and pics to my phone. I plugged the cable into the port, installed the software (Multimedia Master 1.0), and connected my phone. I have XP Home as an OS.
When I run MM and try to send a pic to my phone, I can't get it to work. Since there is absolutely no help in the form of a manual with the MM software, I need to know a few things.
When I choose 'PC Synch', how do I know when it connects? It just says 'connect to PC'...is it supposed to say 'connected' or something? I specified the correct Com port as far as I know. Do I need the dialer installed to perform this action? I was under the impression that it would simply be data transfer from PC to phone, and wouldn't involve using the phone as a modem. Is that correct?
Thanks in advance for any help you may provide!

Anyone?

The plot thickens...I tried to transfer a midi file and I get the message 'send error no 102'. Any clues? Is this thing on?

I had a problem with my 4900 on my XP computer. I plugged in the phone and drivers installed perfrectly. But none of the futuremedia programs or the sprintpcs dialer would not see the phone. I finally tried disabling the dialup modem(only used for faxing) in the hardware manager and boom... it worked!

Well I think it sees my phone, because when I hit menu it automatically goes to 'pc sync' (when trying to transfer a pic or midi). I also have no modem. Thanks for answering though, it was getting lonely in here!
