Alright, here is probly my last place where I could expect some light on this problem.

I flashed my E398, but somehow I screwed it up. I first wanted to flash it to the E1 rokr but decided to go back to the original after I successfully flashed the 12i pre flash. So then I restored it using FlashBackup with the backup I saved a long time ago from the first E398 I got (which I'm using happily now).

Now here is the PROBLEM:

At the beginning when the problem first occured, the phone can be turned on by pressing and holding the power button, but the screen turns on all blank and shuts off after 1 second. So I pressed *+#+powr to flash it to another flash. Not working...Tried several, still same thing. Then when I tried to press and hold the power button, it won't turn on at all!!!!!!!!

But the good thing is that it can still be turned on by pressing *+#+power.

NOW I'M STUCK.... I REALLY PRAYED HARD ON THIS, BUT STILL..... GUYS? EXPERTS? YOUR_MOTO_SAVER? SHOEY? THE RUSSIAN GUY?

FYI, I've tried the methods in this forum such as RAMLDR and shorting the phone. It can boot into the flash mode, and computer recognizes it, but it won't turn on!!!
To clarify the backup I mentioned above, it is actually the backup of the same model and before I've done any modding to that phone.

your post is kind of confusing, but it sounds like you tried restoring a backup to your phone that was made from a different e398. you can't do that. you can only load backups from the same exact phone.

My phone has been in the state yours is in before. It's ok, there's nothing to worry about, it's not dead

I can't remember the exact process of getting it back up and running ... but all you should have to do is load a backup back to your phone. if you don't have a backup, I hope you atleast have a PDS backup then you can use that with another backup.. BUT, if you don't have any original backups at all, there are programs out there that will re-generate your PDS, and then you can flash a monsterpack or whatever you want.

I hope this helps you out some.

I was messing around trying to make a sudo ROKR flash and foobared my phone. Wouldn't turn on at all! ARG!!!

So I found that post about reviving your dead E398. Well the first tip I tried worked! Here it is;
Plug your cable into your PC, then plug your phone into the cable. Now try the three-finger startup (*,#,Power).

I hope it works for you, it did for my phone and I was able to reflash it with a "good" MP and its been working fine.

I know exactly what the problem is. This thing happend to my V635. Basically something went wrong somewhere and you killed your boot. What you need right now is to restore your phone from scrach. I have a method which wrked perfectly fine for me. Here is what you should do:

1) Download Moto Repair Studio by clicking HERE it's a demo version however you have the function of reparing your phone. Simply take out the batter for a second, put it back in, connect the cable, hold * + # + power button until you hear the windows "DING" sound and until you see connected on the bottom. Choose your phone model and click repair and follow the instructions as the program prompts you.

After the repair progress is done successfully:

2) Downlad the newest FlashBackup from HERE and choose any monster pack for your phone. Flash it with FlashBackup and after all successfully done your phone should be alive.

I can't guarantee this will work, however it worked for me and many others. I hope this helps you bring your dead phone to LIVE !!

Alright guys, one good news and one bad news:
Good News:
After I repaired it, and flashed with the "original" monster pack which I downloaded from here: http://www.motomodders.net/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=15593, my phone finally can be turned on now!
Bad News:
Even though it can be turned on, it is still in the status of which the keypad light and the "Hellomoto" screen comes on for just 1 second, then the whole thing goes off. Any idea or light?

I am glad it worked for you !! Actually this method can be used for most of the popular phones out there. So anyone who has killed their phone can try this. Hey i can't do any worst

Moto Repair Studio is actually automated process of all the steps listed in the Never Kill Your phone thread. It's a brilliant program created by the russians from www.motofan.ru. Thank them and not me

Telezz do you know if this process should work on a V551
I have killed my boot and now if i connect my phone to the pc and press the 3 finger boot up i get the msg at the bottom of the screen in the system tray stating that a usb device connected to the pc has encountered an error . I have Flashbackup and MFF and neither are able to connect to the phone

Try use that repair studio first, choose v550 and follow prompts. Hopefully when you connect your phone the repair studio recognizes it, good luck

The V551 is not one of the listed models in moto repair studio, i would recommend the ramldr method in your V551 case. I have an V551 and to be honest i was unable to restore it. I am working on a thread in which i will be describing how to restore your phone in details. It will be posted shortly.

I can connect my phone only if i hae testpoint in place and grounded out
once i try to connect after using this the phone will not go into flash mode ot connect to pc
I have tried several different program including Flashbackup, RSD Lite, Repair Studio, and Ramldr none of which will connect to my phone unless I use testpoint to ground of which all of them connect to the phone
any suggestions

Ground the test point and than use moto repair studio after your phone is detected. You should be able to restore it.
