^^^ You guys think this is a good price for a new VS7??? $400 brand new. Or should I consider something else..

Thx ...

Posted by: nx6288

yea thats probably the lowest I've seen...the price has been dropping ever since it came out probably since not a lot of people are buying the phone although I'm planning to buy it soon myself..

Posted by: mark mackarus

you can also check fonegrabber...it will list the lowest prices from the top. VS7 on fonegrabber

Posted by: soultrader

i saw guy sells on bst 420cad/////probably the best choice

Posted by: iLL-Faded

wow shipping is 35$USD? thats ridiculous, when i ship my phones the shipping comes out to 10$USD. LOL at the ridiculous shipping rates.

Posted by: Gfunk333

This guys located in Toronto. If you read the heading its $400 CDN cash picked up NEW. I mean I saw HoFo members asking $500 -$600 for the same phone on classifieds. Just looking for opinions on wether I should go for it.....or wait a bit longer as the price has been dropping dramatically ever since it came out.... Thx 4 everyones input.

Posted by: iLL-Faded

wait till x-mas it'll drop another 50-100

this can be said for every piece of technology....until they become an antique, hehe.

I'm also very interested in this phone. But I think the killer for it and the quick price drop is the design and the fact that it lacks an expansion slot for a memory card. When I say design, am I the only one who finds the chunk of gray weird (2 & 3)?

OMG, I just noticed that crevice there in 1. Anyone find it awkward?

Posted by: soultrader

definitely- plus differnt width of flip

Posted by: Gfunk333

^^^^ Ya the only thing thats holding me back from buying this phone is the akward looking key pad. I mean it just looks too plain and akward ... they shoulda filled up all that extra room by making the keys bigger ... and more attractive....cool lights etc...... I mean for a phone that retailed for $550 + when it first came out ..... I was expecting the keypad to be dazzling ....

I really don't care about the memory expantion slot ... because I have an iPod. and I guess 30mbs i enough to hold 50 - 70 photos.

I actually went to pacific and checked out the phone in person. And I must saw the screen is "WOW"..... never seen anything like it. So big and bright and clear. The click open button was pretty cool too. Didn't really have enough time to play around with the camera.

But the thing that held me back was how akward this thing felt in my hand. The top part (screen) was bigger, wider, and thicker than the bottom.

Just to keep everyone up dated on the price. Its now droped another $20......down to $380 BNIB cash..... I guess due to the lack of demand...especially for a high end phone.

I think I'll wait around till or after Xmass .... and if the price drops to = or <$350 I'll definatly grab it......regardless of the keypad and the akward shape. I mean for the price of a Razr .... this thing is well worth it.

Posted by: soultrader

i might do the same

Posted by: VAsh13

wow where did you find the price 380 CAD?

Posted by: Gfunk333

the same link that I posted in the beginign of the thread.... I e-mailed him to ask a few question a couple of days ago about the contents of the package..... and he just responded and offered $380 cash if I was willing to pick it up this weekend.

I think I'm gonna wait this one out just for a little bit.... and hope the price drops a bit more. Not really in that much of a need for a new phone.

I mean the general population aren't gonna be willing to fork out this kinda cash for a Panasonic phone......not taking a stabe at Panasonic in any way........but they just ain't as popular or well known.......as ur Moto, Nokia...SE....etc....

Having said that I don't think what ever is in stock is gonna sell well ...... and after Xmass the dealers r gonna realize its just gonna have to go ...... and thatz when I plan to make my move

and btw ..... the phone looks a lot better in person.... it has a really solid and quality build.

Posted by: soultrader

wow i have to look at it in person but pacific is so far

Posted by: Dibble

I've got this from a fellow hofoer for $385, and I have no regrets! I had a $375 deal before, but the poster didn't have enough time to meet (why did he post then...)?

Anywho, excellent phone. excellent pictures. If only it had memory expansion, but hey, that's about the only thing i would change.

Posted by: mediumsliced

i just bought mine for ~USD350.

i don't really mind the lack of the memory expansion, at least they bundled a USB cable in the box.

plus it's pretty cheap for the specs that i am getting.

all in all, a pretty good buy in my book.

Good news guys!

299 US at howardforums.com.

I've picked a few phones from them - always been good to me in terms of service and delivery. Keep in mind, I'm in Cali and they're in NY.

Posted by: soultrader

y y that phone is missing 850

Posted by: pqpine413

I need to buy one of these. does any1 know where i can find one in toronto for less than 390?

Posted by: Marshall Dusty

could anyone post a pic taken by the phone? id like to see what this baby can do.

Posted by: 200sxsr

honestly, the flip on this phone is a bit bigger than the keypad, but it does fit in your hand really really really nicely. if they made the keypad the save size as the screen, it would be kind of hard to hold, like a cardboard. It feels like you're holding a comb imo. also, the two gray blocks on the phone...the one of the flip is a switch to change the mode of the camera from normal to close-up. and the one at the bottom is probably to soften the top flip when you close it. becuase it does close kind of rough. Also, the keypad, its perfect. anything you need is right there..no fancy buttons to hit to go to this or to this..i find those annoying. Panasonic has still kept their phones really tidy. Until you actually pick up the phone in person and took a look at it. you will see its a lot better than just judging by the pics.

Posted by: jayson8826

i got mines for 328$ free shipping @ cellhut.com it came two days after order

Posted by: Marshall Dusty

Posted by: Nick Dellhall

I suggest waiting for the new version of the VS7... it comes with a memory slot. But the release date is a bit ambigious.

do you have any recommended shops to buy in hk or mong kok?
legit ones.. lol..

or should i just buy from broadway/fortress? is there prices that different?

Thanks!

Posted by: soultrader

broadway is fine

Posted by: ponickka

i don't think people should buy the vs7, its a great phone (the color is krazy) ..but the volume is so low + very limited options (compare to the recent phones)....and plus the resale value of this phone is horrible. i had a friend that bought it for $350 , and in 1 week he couldn't even sell it for $300..end up sellin for $250 ...

Posted by: soultrader

i heard about earpice volume too....or else id buy it myself

Do you have any other recommendations? cause i really love the screen...but what you say about the options is true..

Another question, does broadway sell 2nd hand phones?

Posted by: Nick Dellhall

Nothing wrong w/ the Panasonic phones in term of earpiece volume, it really boils down to how you position the phone relative to your ears. It is because the phones' earpiece only has one small outlet for sound, thus you must position it properly, otherwise it CAN be quite a loud phone. Another thing to note is that once opened, the VS and X series phones are relatively longer than most phones (more like a regular phone), thus it can be confusing when compared to other cellphones when trying to place the phone in the right position.

I have a x800 myself and didn't go for a VS7 because of the limited memory.

i heard battery issues

Battery is fine if you have updated firmware. It really depends on what you do with your phone. For example, I had about 2 hours of movies and 2 hour of mp3 playbacks the other days and the battery was about 35-40% left at the end of the day. But if I don't use much of the multimedia stuff, battery consumption is not bad. You do have to take in account that this is a symbian phone and a lot of the processes can be battery draining.

Also, different programs can drain battery in different ways... for example, I find WMAplus to suck more battery power than Smartmovie - which is kinda puzzling considering that smartmovie is both sound and video. I think it boils down to the programming itself.

It's an added plus if you have an extra battery and desktop charger, but so far I'm fine w/ just one battery. I highly recommend installing taskspy to check if any background processes are running / draining battery.

I will let you guys how it goes with BT headphones when I get my pair

Posted by: soultrader

so did u get ur pair yet?

Posted by: Nick Dellhall

Trying to get ahold of a pair of these:

Give me a pm if anyone's interested.. thanks.

Posted by: mark mackarus

Lowest on Fonegrabber is around $280 shipped

Posted by: soultrader

very good price

Posted by: by-cy

Hmm... that's $280US + shipped on fonegrabber. Just checked.. as well, you're not always as lucky to bypass customs.

$280 CAN is definitely a good price when the phone's in pretty good condition with no scratchs and such.. let me know.

Posted by: soultrader

definitely agree

Posted by: cheap-cellulars

yes I agree it is a good price if in top condition, good luck. myself, I just like the feeling of opening a new package & knowing I'm the only one who has used the mobile phone.

Posted by: cellchamp

Please help me decide between Panasonic VS6 or VS7, i like clamshell phones. Is there any other phone compared to these two?

I understand VS6 is newer than VS7.

I have not seen the phones physically, is the Red Color VS6 too feminine or can a Man carry it.

Posted by: Gfunk333

damn these phones are cheap now. I just trade my SLVR + $20 for one. I remember back in the day when I though about getting one, they were around the $400 range.

Posted by: soultrader

They are cheap for a reason*))

And after playing with this phone for 2 days I already found a few.

1) Camera sucks for a 2 MP
2) Shape is ackward
3) keypay is small and sucks
4) reception sucks in the basement. and no its not the lack of 850, I had K750 that worked just fine.

Its going back on sale very soon. The only pros I can think of are the big screen and the pre loaded Sonic the Hedgehack game.

Crap Crap Crap. Good thing I only paid $200 4 it.
