Sharp902 chinese version

Hello
I have a 902 chinese version, but it seems to have a bit of problem. When I SMS to some of my friends in CHINESE they could read it, but some couldn;t.
I would like to know, the person who couldnt read the chinese msg, was it because hers is not a 3Gphone?? It's strange!
