I just purchased an x800 to replace my Nokia 6620. I did mainly for size and the flip phone design. After a week of use I can say I am quite happy with it. The screen is vivid, the flip is convient, it runs Symbian OS, and it provides an excellent signal for me. I am a bit diapointed in the pathetic battery life, and the poor bluetooth sound quality (is very distorted compared to my 6620). None of the short-comings are show-stoppers. I am very glad I purchased this phone.

I bought mine from WirelessRush off ebay. Took 3 days to arrive, brand new in the box.

I got mine from wireless_experts (also off e-bay for $235). I paid extra for two day(ships out of from LA) and its going on 4 days now...Hopefully it comes in the next 25 minutes, mail usually gets here around 2pm est or it will be officially 5 days...aghh...the wait is torture...

ouch 4 days instead of 2, i would message the one person to see if you can get the refund on the shipping.

Well my long awaited X800 has arrived. after playing with it for a few hours at work, I dont know where to start with the accolades. This phones reception is so much better than my moto v551...even lacking the 850 mhz channel!!! I love the connectivty options that this phone offers (Bluetooth, I.R., USB, mini S.D.) As for the ship time...well 15 extra bucks is not worth the effort. lol

how long is the batt life when your talkign to a person?
Posted by: kashman85
On the intial charge i got around 30-40 mins talk time. Charge number 2 jumped to around an hour. Hopefully it gets to around 1.45 - 2 hours by time I get the battery cycled. You may have seen people complaining about the "pathetically low battery life". But I think these people are forgetting that the x800 is a smart phone, because the x800 is so small and does not look like your typical bulky smart phone.

ah ic, thats like my moto v600 i can only get around 1-2hr talk time or less.

still wondering about the earpiece volume? hard to hear in areas with background noise, IE street, cafe, etc
that is the only thing holding me back from gtting this phone
thanks
peace

Earpiece volume is a bit low, but I have no issues with it when using a bluetooth headset. I have to keep the earpiece cranked up even at home and in noisier environments, like on the bus, it is a bit hard to hear. That, the low battery life, and the Asian-version Series 60 bug where it doesn't save your custom words when power cycling the phone are the main drawbacks I can find on the phone. Considering I used a Motorola MPx200 for 6 months earlier this year, I'm used to the first two drawbacks and the third I can deal with. The phone gets great reception and packs a lot of functionality into its small form-factor, and the current price is quite reasonable. I'm very happy with mine.

The earpiece volume issue stems from the fact that there is only one hole for the speaker. This means that it will take some adjusting of the handset to get proper alignment of the speaker and your ear. Once you figure this out the volume issues go away. lm a student who does most of his school work at a coffee shop, ergo, makes many calls from a coffee shop, I have had little/no volume issues yet.
Just a note: Talk time is up to 4 hours; standby is around 36-48 hours.
Just fine unless you must go 3+ days without charging.

I'm seriously debating this phone as my Nextel contract expires this money. I'm pretty torn between ordering one or waiting for the Samsung T809. From what I have read the biggest gripe is battery life but I'm used to it (Nextel battery life sucks). I just wanted to know if any of you guys have had serious issues or concerns.

The only gripe i have is that Panasonic only packs a 16MB sdmini card. What can you really do with a card that small? A 128MB card would be much better. But this really doesn't affect my opinion of the phone being better than anything offered in the USA.

So overall you are happy with the phone?

Mine the external LCD quit working after a month. No info whatsoever except the backlight.
