Best Bluetooth Headset on the Market?

Hi,

I'm looking for some type of review of all the BT headsets out there - particularly one that works well with the SMT5600.

My only requirements are that it has long battery life, light in weight, in-the-ear (instead of over the ear) and of course, good design.

Please let me know your suggestions, thanks!

HBH 662 is an awesome headset.

I've been very happy with the Plantronics Voyager 510.

I've been quite happy with the Jabra BT250.

I have 3 different BT headsets for sale. Go to the MPx 220 for sale link in my sig.

i think this is nowhere else... so my .02 cents for the ones that want to compare the size of the hbh662 with their hs810/850

I like my HS810. It sounds great, works great, and (IMHO) looks great.

Just my 2c.

I use the Plantronics Voyager 510 as well and it's an excellent headset. However, if there's ANY (and I mean any) wind that hits the mic when talking, then the other party will not be able to hear you.

I own the HS810 as well. However, the battery life on it after only six months of moderate use has been pretty bad. I only get about 20 to 30 minutes of talktime on it when fully charged.

Additionally, you might want to check out the Bluetooth sub-forum here for reviews of other headsets.

the moto headsets are ugly as hell. the only ones who've actually made a good looking bluetooth headset is sonyericsson and logitech. anything else is just crap.

I know that the HBH662 is a great headset (and a huge inprovement over the HBH660), but it is not "in the ear".

I highly recommend the Plantronics 640. I've been using it with my Treo 650 and now my PPC-6700. After going through several different units (Plantroncis M2500, Logitech Mobile Freedom, Motorola 850, Sony HBH660, and the Treo headset), this one is by far the most comfortable and highest quality unit. It does not require an over the ear loop (although one is included) because it comes with several differenct size ear gels (similar to the Jabras, but way more comfortable).

The price is competitive at about $75.00 with other quality units. Check it out!

i like the bluetake bt400 g3. it's a nice compact bt headset 350hrs standby time/10hrs talk time. i proved both myself. this headset actually gave me 11.5 hrs of talktime.

here's the link.copy & paste to address bar http://bluetake.com/products/BT400G...subS.htm#scene2
do a search on froogle.com to find the best price. i paid $31.00 in july for mine.
good luck

I've never encountered that problem when my friends were using the headset on their end. Even with lots of wind, while it may not be crystal clear, it's still hearable.

I finally got around to shopping for a BT headset and I've narrowed it down to a Motorola just because they use the same charging adaptor for my SMT5600, thus i only need to bring one adaptor when I travel - i travel frequently.

I have the Motorola H500 headset and a couple problems with it:
1) it's not as loud as the handset - i need it loud since i take calls in loud places
2) the other party can hear a 'buzz' in the background, yet I can't hear it.

Problem with the unit? problem with H500's in general?

Maybe I should get a different BT headset?

I use my 5600 with a Cardo Scala 500. These are among the least expensive ones out there also. Pairs easily and quickly with my 5600, T610, T68i, and T39. Voice quality good on both sides of the conversation, great battery life (though I'm not a BT power-user, AND it comesn with a clip that you can use for glasses or sunglasses.

Comfy too.

good luck | dom

I also have the 5600 and the H500 and I get the same problem. The other party hears a buzz. It doesn't drown out my voice but it just present.

I didn't have this problem when using the h500 with my V551 phone though.

I also tried to google for 5600's and bluetooth buzzes but this is the only one that I could find. I saw lots of hits on the phone generating a buzz around speakers but I think that's a GSM thing. I've had three GSM phones and they all did the same thing.

I'm going to try another headset and see what I get.

i had the scala 500 and while it sounded pretty good i don't like the way it fits, or lack there of, so i returned it and got the plantronics explorer 320 and so far love it, very comfy

I have the HS850 and I'm pleased with it. I purchased it from Hong Kong because I wanted the all black Paladin model which isn't sold by Motorola in the U.S. The only problem, if you can call it that, I have had with it is when I have the volume turned all the way up, the other party sometimes hears an echo of their conversation coming out of the earpiece and going back into the mic. Having to adjust the volume is no problem. What really bothers me about these headsets especially the high-end ones, is the fact the the battery is not user replaceable. These things are basically made to be disposable like a cheap Bic lighter!
