Hi guys I'm buying 1 or the other tomorrow I've heard good and bad things about both phones has any1 seen the Nokia N90 and compared it too the Sharp 903. Thanks.

ive read a few bad things about the camera on the N90, general poor quality, considering thats suposed to be its speciality. Funnily enough i was going to buy the N90 but i saw the 903 and went for it instead. imo the 903 is the best on market ive seen! The N90's camera is a bit weird too, that put me off. I suppose it depends what you want to use it for?

I like the operating system on the Nokia phones never had a Sharp phone b4 so I can't comment on its OS I want a phone that will last a 18 month contract and not look out of date + 3G is coming on now so that is a must.

Depends what you want in a phone. In a nutshell, if you want smartphone capability with a fairly good camera (comparitively - it's a great camera, don't worry), get the N90. If smartphone capability doesn't matter to you, get the 903.

N90 is better than 903 only in one thing: Symbian, that`s true and that`s all. Forget about Carl Zeiss, this phone is (like almost every Nokia) very overpriced. Yeah, photos from this phone are OK but they`re worse than photos from 903 for sure, they`re even worse than photos from K750. Sharp and SE have shown how to make amaizing camera phones without using Carl Zeiss brand.
Lack of vibration is something unbelievable today, I don`t even wanna think how to use this phone in certain situations. Stupid, just stupid, another Nokia-jewel for high-end brand-freaky juppies...

I'm surprised that Sony/Ericcson doesn't use Carl Zeiss lenses in their phones. They're all over Sony's digital cameras. Personally, I'm waiting to see what the Nokia N92 is like when it comes out next year, or if Sharp can cut some bulk from the 903 and bring back an external display.

Well I'm edging towards the 903 the camera not inportant to me I just like the looks of it I've even started looking at the Sony P910i I like some features that has. I ordered an N90 about a week ago and the shop as it in now but I'm unsure now if I like it, so I'll go and have a look tomorrow, but while I'm up town me look at the 903 has well.

i have both. nokia n90 has better video capture than sharp. 903 has better photo quality. the only advantage of the n90 is the platform.... easier to use than sharp. plus the sound quality of the n90 is alot better.

Has you can see from my profile I've gone for the Sony P910i it was on a really good deal, something totally different I know, but I did have a look at the N90 and to be honest its nearly the same phone has my 7610 OS wise I sat down I thought about what I needed on a phone and the camera although handly, I hardly ever use. I'm going into business on my own so I think the P910i will help me more + its only on a 12 contract which is better.

I thought the N90 might be a pretty good phone lol, may have to reconsider that decision now. I think i need to test one before i can form a true opinion on it.

you guys say the n90 is poor quality. the build quality of the 903 is pretty poor itself. very cheap plastic! I just got mine and im pretty disappointed with the quality.

Nobody said that BUILD quality of N90 is poor! Try to read posts before you will write something. We talked about features not about overall build quality. Funny thing is that what was supposed to make N90 so special, Carl Zeiss optics appeared to be nothing special. Take a look at pictures taken by SE K750/W800, Sharp 903 or Samsung D600 (landscape mode only coz no AF and macro). Do they have Carl Zeiss optics? NO. Than compare picture quality...
So what was build BETTER?
Nokia =/= best phones in the market, at last not for me.

i have all the phones you mentioned above, besides the d600. no need to get so offensive, I was just stating my personal opinion. I never said anything about picture quality. I do like my 903, but n90 vs 903 is subjective to a person's opinion and he should try both of these phones out. I do think the 903's menu layout is a bit cheesy. But what do I know?

Megamaniac you're in a Sharp forum..you have 'mostly' biased people here. The last thing the people who frequent this forum(hardcore fans) are going to say is the N90 is the better choice.
The 903 might be the best choice but this is the last place to ask which one is better.
You're best option is to search google for reviews of both phones and form your own opinion what features you mostly want in the phone.

Some people like to make little things huge things i.e no vibation on the N90, or it has Carl Zeiss optics but doesn't make it some outstanding camera.
Or the critics for the 903 would have some things to say like no external LCD screen, same basic phone as 902 with a higher mega-pixel camera.

True, Sharp/Vodafone menu is poor and far from perfect. Yet, nothing can beat LG U8xxx series when it comes to firmware comparison in 3G phones

Firmware is total crap, menu is slow, phone is slow, camera is slow (you should see this in nightmode, it`s a joke!), everything in this phones is sloooowww

Symbian is much better, even firmware in NEC 3G phones for Hutchinson/3 network is a lot better. Multi tasking feature I had in NEC e616V was awesome, I could listen music, browse internet & write notes or msg at same time, switching tasks was fast & easy. Well, you can`t have everything

Maybe yes, maybe no. I`ve found that some websites with mobile phones reviews doesn`t 'like' to write anything bad about nokia or siemens phones O_o
I`m not saying that some articles are paid but... you know, business is business

Mobile review is good but I`m not sure if you can find there 902/903 review.

It`s only because some people are saying that Nokia is SO awesome and I`m sick of this.* I`ve never had 'perfect' phone (probably this thing will never exist), everything has it`s '+' and '-'. Don`t get me wrong, I`m not in Nokia 'antifan' club, I was even thinking about buying N90 (coz it`s clamshell with HQ screen, good camera, nice design AND symbian) but I need vibration

*(I`m not talking about you know, so don`t take it personally, I don`t think that you`re that kind of person

It all depends which phone meets your needs. The N90 is a smartphone. Do you need the Symbian OS? If not get the 903. The 903 has a better camera anywayz and the phone itself is cheaper than the overpriced N90. If u can afford to get the N90 might as well buy the Sharp SX833 which is the completely stable unlocked version of the 903.

Think i am just going to look at all opinions across the boat and hopefully find someone with this phone and just test it myself lol. But i must say some of the pictures i have seen posted on the net of camera quality on the Nokia N90 are pretty good, saw this one.

N90 have a very solid feel to the build quality. But it's very slow. Sharp is 3.2mp and N90 is 2mp. So..... anyway, I'm a N90 user, planning to get a 903sh in the near future. N90 is much like other nokia symbian phones with less stuffs out there like themes etc. Its not a common phone too. So far I think its an ok phone, not fantastic, but ok.

Size to me doesn't matter, I prefer reasonably sized, heavy and solid phones. I used to use 9500 too.

well this past weekend, i've had the opportunity to use a n90 and compare with teh 903sh.

the n90 is huge.. its bigger than the 903sh. but the menu system.. is fast.. its a symbian os so what do you expect.

camera quality. doesnt' really compare wtih the 903sh. but other functionalities do.
