Short Term Auto Insurance - For Subpar Record

Ok, My license is elligable for restoration. I was going to wait until Next Month when I get to Canada to register and insure my Si. Now I'm thinking if I could find somewhere to set me up with a short term policy... say for 1 month... consisting of just liability, I'd get everything restored here in CT so I can get my arse back behind the wheel.
Does anyone know anywhere, or maybe have an "in" somewhere that might be willing to set me up with affordable short term liability Auto insurance?
If not I'll just wait until next month, although knowing I could be driving, but am not is driving me insane!

couldnt you just sign up with any company than cancel it after a month?
