With all the problems I having I am considering calling XBM about my 6682. Anyone know what they would offer as an exchange since the firmware issue hasn't been resolved yet???

You do realize he said 6682 and not 6230.

Lockline and XBM seem to be very fond of the V551.

That's because they have yo many V551.

I'd be SO pissed. I didn't pay $5/month and $50 for them to trade me a non-smartphone for my smartphone. How bout givin some 6620s for it at least? If this is true then I'm going to drop my insurance.

they r trying to get rid of the v551 so they can relase the the v557 which is basically the same phone.

I can attest, they are giving the Razr V3 (black), Ericsson S710a (if they have any in stock), Nokia 6102 (yes, you are reading correctly!) and lastly, the S66!

Don't make the mistake I did and think she said the SX66! What a nightmare when I opened the box to find a S66, instead of the SX66...

Mine was replaced with another 6682 at the weekend. This one seems a little bit more peppy even though I've loaded more on it (into phone memory, not running concurrently). Same (old) firmware.
It hasn't reset like the old one would (yet) either.
Activating calls via the headset (jabra) still does not work. I think that this will only work if you connect/disconnect manually via the phone OR the headset does this during link negotiation. Headset works perfectly on a T610 though. I wouldn't be surprised if the implementation in firmware is bad and the handsfree/headset profiles that can be used are getting mixed up.
They said I had another 30 days for it to mess up and still get an exchange too.

Interesting, I have no problems with my Bluespoon AX or a Moto HS820 (at work). Can listen to MP3s (the moto has better bass, fyi), answer calls, hang up, etc. haven't tried voicedial cause I don't use it.

Yeah, the concensus (from reading the yays & nays here and there) seems to be that the moto 8xx headsets work fine. I'll have to look one up.

Where did this change take place? I've not been able to get another Nokia 6682 from the Cingular Exchange Center for over a month!

Columbia, SC (that explains it!). Don't worry it's shutdown by itself twice today even with the keyboard lock on.

Yikes, man! I want to exchange my bug ridden 6230b for the 6682 but the more i read the scarier that idea gets! Not like i can find someone at orange that wants to make me a satisfied customer anyway, but even if I do at this point I'm wondering if it's worth it!

just write a very unsatisfied letter to someone special at cingular. bring up the fact that the razr/s66 are completely not comparable exchanges for the 6682. with any luck maybe theyll get you a more decent phone knowing who to complain to and how to do it to any company usualy gets you good results.
