Cingular has temporarily discontinued shipments of the Nokia 6682 (software v3.01.1) due to a compatibility issue with the Gemplus or Oberthur UICC (UMTS compatible SIM card, 3G SIM). When combining either of these SIMs with the Nokia 6682 the voicemail number must be manually entered and stored in the handset via “Tools” then “Voicemail” in order to use “one number” dialing to access the voicemail system. While Cingular has not officially released the 3G SIM, a “stop-ship” has been enacted on the Nokia 6682 until a software revision is available to support the 3G UICC. In a nutshell, you can buy the Nokia right now, or wait a few days and get the 2125. Personally, I'd wait 3-4 weeks and see how people like the 2125. Then compare the reviews and make your decision. I don't know where you live, but for me, UMTS/HSPDA is still a few years away.

Regardless of your decision between those two phones, I think you'll have a winner on your hands.

#2 is definitely a bug. My Unbranded 6682 doesn't do it. Also, seems rather stupid of them to ask you EVERY time you turn your phone on if you want to update the contacts. That's the point of synching.

Mine doesn't do it and it IS Cingular branded. But it may be due to the fact that I'm using a 32k sim, which seems strange to me but whatever. I don't have the call log issue either.
