as it says in the title.

that's cool, just wait until they never get their rebates b/c there is a limit per address. their rebates are really full of it. Just wait 'til they come in *****ing about thier rebates and you can direct them to wirefly - outta my store.

Posted by: .7

I wouldn't sweat it.

A business that really understands how "business" works would never be so stupid as to do their cell phones plans through a faceless Internet store. Thankfully for you, their problems will not be yours, and I will guarantee that they will have issues with that many lines, especially through Wirefly. Secondary contracts, no in store warranty, rebates up the waazoo....idiots.

Cut bait and move on.

Posted by: Alfred_Neuman

bah and i went all out for them to get the best deal too.

wouldve been nice too.

Ah... I love listening to retail complain about losing business accounts...

i love how inept bmg is too.

Posted by: .7

Now now, you two have both had your comments. Lets not start flaming eachother.

Posted by: nskgti23

Did I call you inept? No... You don't hear me complaining about losing deals on HoFo? No... That is part of the biz... If you don't like competition, I suggest finding a new industry...

Posted by: Alfred_Neuman

i didnt say you were inept...did i?

I just want to extend a special thank you to the kid who leaked the UMTS/HSDPA stuff off CSP onto this forum. Because of you, I am unable to access the UMTS link on CSP to get important information for 3 of my customers that require it today. Next time you have the brilliant idea to publish CONFIDENTIAL/PROPRIETARY information to the world, do the rest of us a favor and smash your computer keyboard and screen.

Thanks for costing me a couple grand...

Though it's not about losing sales to competition, it's about losing sales non the less

anyway, I think Alfred has a right to be frustrated being that it was 30+ sales. you can't tell me you wouldn't be a little pissed. I know I would be. But Alfred, there's also a point that if these people are stupid enough not to read the terms and agreements from Wirefly about the rebates, then they're probably not going to be the most fun customers to work with and may be more hassel than it's worth...

sorry that happened tho.....

dont worry wirefly can't sell B2B plans no indirect can not. its inked into the master agreement you can only sell personal consumer voice and data. I had to hand over a 100 line business deal to my cali cingular B2B team. I sort of made sure I had a back door for making money. I told the business owner I'd get him unlocked treo's at a good price, he wanted unlocked so my best advice to him was just go for the freebie or dirt cheap handset they offered. He got 100 V3 for $79.99 no rebates. I made $190 off each treo I sold him on the back end, plus bluetooth hands free kits and ear peices. Sure I got left out of the activations money but I did not have to wait 45 days for it!

people are gonna be cheap this day in age. My theory is you get what you pay for. You get a "free" razr with rebates, you have to go thru hell to get those rebates if you get them back at all. Id rather pay for a phone than get a free one. Most of the time, the free ones a cheap pieces of crap or I have to jump thru hoops to get them (Im lazy tonight on spelling, cant you tell?)

Dont worry Alfred, those people will get whats coming to them in the end. And youll get to point and laugh at them.

There is a pretty big difference between losing a deal to another channel/third party and someone posting internal info that causes you to not have access to that info, which in turn costs you a deal...

i definately agree, leaking info is a lot bigger deal than the competition, but you did say you don't complain on HoFo about losing sales, you didn't say how. anyway, I was just givin ya sh*t bud...

Does anyone know if other companies (Sprint, Verizon, T-Mo) put up with BS like this? I used to work for Sprint many moons ago but we could match web offers.

I don't understand why some people would assume this about rebates. I do rebates all the time, not only for phones, and they are no hassle at all (at least I do not consider filling up a form and sealing an envelope and putting a stamp on it a hassle). I have always received my rebates in the estimated amount of time (lots of times sooner than expected).

Cheers!

I work at a Tmo indirect and YES we have those customers, especially those who want to upgrade, come in with their little folder of paperwork from WireFly, A1, Amazon what have you and want to free razrs or 330s on our lowest shared plan. Usually I will go through the fine print with them so they know what they are dealing with, offer a buy one get one or something so they know exactly what they pay for and they can always call or come in with any questions, instead of email and hope and wait to get a response. I probably keep 60-75% of those customers. I dont just fling them off because they leave say thanks anyways, think about it for a day and come back. Also sign on for a more qualified plan because I can show them the difference in the plans on paper.

I used to work the rebates dept for an electronics store for awhile. I think maybe 1/4 of the people who bought and item with a rebate actually received a check in the mail. The rest of them either just came in and complained and went on their merry way, or had us fight to get the rebate. And only half the time would we get one from the company. The rest of the time we'd issue a store credit. I myself just filled out some rebates about 4 months ago, got one back in a very quick matter, the other one has seemed to have "disappeared."

Some people DO see rebates as a hassle. Either the rebate dept doesnt want to work with you to get it, or you have to send everything short of a urine sample to get one back. Many people throw away their boxes only to get their welcome kit 7 days later and realize their mistake. Or, the rebate wants some crazy, outlandish proof from the customer, like a zero balanced bill after 6 months of service. There are also several places that give rebates, but only allow you to use them at THEIR online store.

While Im glad you havent had trouble, unfortunately, youre one of the few who has gotten one back in a prompt manner.

30 lines might not seem like a lot to you, but that's 2/3 of an RSC's quota.

take it easy.. take a look on this

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...3912643-7431845
I really don't understand how they give this deals. i got customers come to my store said "Razr is free online"

Posted by: mulletwireless

I wish indirect had the chance to keep the rebates incentives for themselves, give the customer a good deal on a handset and have what ever the service rebate or manufacture rebate go to me! I did have a deal like that with Nokia as a test in my market once and it went too well to roll out nationwide since all I sold was free 3360's and kept the $90.00 rebates. I sold nearly 30 a week for the month of December one year. It was one hell of a paycheck.

I worked for Voicestream in Dallas back in the day and we couldn't match web and they were always lower than the stores. at least cingular out here lets us match once in a while.

and as far as the rebates, they may not be a hassel in the store but when you have as many terms and conditions as wirefly or amazon, it's a major hassel cause it's all the small print which no one reads...

Posted by: mashi

i would like to see their rebate form.. what the trick they are doing.. I saw a lot of complain on other forums about their rebate.

Why not just activate it in stages, as long as below the limit B2B does not need to be involved... Would you want someone like nskgti23 handling your customer's needs?

Ha ha...ironic you asked. The answer is a big YES! People (especially existing customers not eligable to upgrade) bring in wirefly and A1 print outs all the time telling us that they went to "www.verizonwireless.com" and that what they printed is directly off of our website.

Not to be stereotypical in anyway, but in terms of new customers, it is mostly people of Asian and Indian decent that walk in the doors with the adds and go back and forth with us about matching them....which we do not do. Our store is really busy, so I would say that we see at least one internet offer a day, to the point where we created this as an internal store joke....
