Backlight Razr problem

I just got a brand new black Razr...the only problem I have with it is that if the backlight for the main screen goes off before I'm finished what I'm doing (setting menus or msgs or whatever) it will not come back on again with a keypress. It appears that the backlight timer is activating with no regard to keypad activity. It was doing this with the original software and I have modded it today with the latest flexflash from motox and it is still doing it.....
I've searched the forums here and elsewhere and not seen anyone else with this problem.

anyone have any ideas??????

theres a little light sensor on the keypad that detects when you are in a low light or normal light situation and reacts respectively. you can go into menu>settings>initial setup>backlight and change it to whichever you want. there is even a continuous setting that will make it on until you close the flip.
