hi, i really want to get the side kick 2. i dont know why but for some reason i seemed to be to be into it latly.
i had a question though

do you HAVE to have the data plan to use the side kick 2? also what if i dont have the data plan but i get that T-MobileWeb ($5.99) would i be able to use the web on the side kick 2? also im sorta lost. im looking at some sk2s on ebay and stuff and hiptop and side kick 2 are the same right? and suncom? thats a carrier too right?

my bad i jsut saw the thread below. but like is it true? lol only one person replyed to that.... how would tmobile know what phone im using? also like i have a contract on my phone i currently have, if i use another one will tmobile know?

Everytime you make a phonecall or send/receive data... it logs the imei of the phone

The way it works... whether or not it logged the imei you would not be able to use the 5.99 plan on the sidekick anyways... you do need the 19.99 sidekick plan for internet access/web browsing as it connects to dangers servers.... otherwise the only other thing u could do with the sidekick is phonecalls and sms
