VX6000 - Blank non-removable ringtones?

I've been using Bitpim 0.7.30 to send and retrieve data from my phone, including custom ringtones. Not sure what caused it but some ringtones were permanently blank; that is, the filename is there but the phone plays no audio. I can't delete them, rename them, overwrite them, or transfer them to the PC. At first it wasn't much of an issue but the more times I make changes the more bad files show up, and now it's starting to become a problem. The only idea I have left is taking it to the service provider to see if they can flash the memory, but will that also delete other information on the phone such as purchased games? Anyone have any other ideas?

Well, never mind I guess. I just went ahead and modified index.idx with a text editor and removed references to the dead files; everything seems to be in working order now!
